As this drama draws to a close over the next month or so, the question of who truly represents the yellow handkerchief comes up. I would think that YJ has it hands down. My observation of the character over the breadth and depth of the series indicate that his actions are informed by his unwavering devotion to JY. He truly loves her and puts her welfare ahead of his own. It is his understanding of how JY feels about her son that he is even willing to claim Ji-Min as his son via the paternal recognition form-an act of great courage and magnanimity. While he may not be Ji-Min's biological father, he is emotionally and spiritually connected to this little boy. [glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow]

I agree with you. From seeing the story all this time, apparently most Korean men would never marry someone who is carrying someone else's child. YJ really knows the meaning of true love, by staying with JY through it all. You can tell by the way he acts he not only loves JY, but also Ji-min.
Is the show really ending in a month? I know there will be another one following it, but not with the same actors/actresses. I have really gotten attached to these people. JY and YJ are reallly great together!
Does anyone know if you can buy videos of the whole show? This is one of those shows I could watch over and over again. If anyone does, let me know who to contact?

For the number of times this question gets asked (where can I get YH w/ English subtitles on VHS or DVD?), you don't know how bad I wish I knew how to get into the market and do it myself. I think I'd make a mint. I'd fix up the subtitles too, to correct spelling errors and fix up grammar and syntax. The subtitler does a relatively good job, but you can tell it's someone who isn't a native speaker of English. I see small errors in every ep. I know what the subtitler is trying to say, but it's not a perfect translation. I sure wish I could get in on it and make them available to the US market. Alas, I haven't a clue how it would be done, and I don't believe there's anything like that available in any market currently. Jade

YJ exhibits all the characteristics that women admire in men. Is it any wonder that the author of this drama is a woman! YJ is manly, strong, devoted and honorable. What a mensch!

A DVD can hold a bit more than 120 minutes, I think. Since each episode of YH goes fo 35 minutes, only 3 or 4 eps would fit on each disc. And with over 150 episodes, that'd be forty or fifty DVDs! A pretty big box for that boxed set, indeed. As for VHS, you'd need an addition to your house to hold it None the less, I sure would like a boxed set myself

The yellow handkerchief symbolizes eternal devotion. Remember the song, Tie A Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree? It's the same idea.
