This thread is for discussion of episode 4 of Eight Days Mystery of Jeong Jo Assassination. Please check the drama info & schedule thread for more info and rules on how to avoid spoilers and such. --------------------------------------------------------- Jeong Yak Yong is to become the Vice Councilor of the Ministry of War. Chun Deuk meets with In Hyung and Hyang Bi. Chun Deuk suspects it was In Hyung that murdered Jang Bok in Hwaseong. Jeong Jo and his mother recall the events that brought about the death of her family members. Jeong Jo's mother insists they were innocent but Jeong Jo remarks that letters by Hong In Han, her uncle, which claimed he was breaking laws were similar to letters that got his father killed. While the Noron party prepares for the military drill, the Queen Dowager wants her cousin, Han Ju, to join the court to keep an eye on them. The date of the procession is officially announced. Jeong Jo makes Seo Yongbo the new Commander of the Northern Approaches. Yak Yong attends a ministry of war meeting and informs them that he's been ordered to inspect the armed forces and their activities for the upcoming procession.

Some of the translation is unintentionally funny. Merchant Hong (In Bang's buddy) has his concubine living in an "outhouse" and In Bang proposes to entertain guests there? LOL. Also, am I the only one who finds the scenes between gisaeng and the various men approach the level of soft cable porn? Seriously, who are those scenes meant for and how do they contribute to the story? Things are picking up. I'm actually enjoying this.

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I read "outhouse". Also, am I the only one who finds the scenes between gisaeng and the various men approach the level of soft cable porn? Seriously, who are those scenes meant for and how do they contribute to the story CGV is a cable network so that's probably why this drama is more raunchy than your typical historical drama.

So far, the writing in this drama seems rather lack lustre. I hope that it gets more interesting. The sub titles appear to be the Korean version of Shakespeare.
