Which character most deserves a smack upside the head?
The lawyer who messes around? His wife who tried to pay him back but only ruined her reputation? The Jinhee who had a miscarriage and didn't stop her husband buying a lot of stuff for the baby who no longer existed? That husband who was so mean at first (but he improved, then threw out his wife, but later will he relent? I'm expecting his son to call him and tell him how the wife talked to him and explained his complicated feelings, then he should forgive her.)
Out of the running, IMO: the comic artist and his young wife who are learning how to be married, and they're treating each other well. I just hope his mother doesn't make trouble......

Yeah, where is that teeth-grinding emoticon when you need it? It's good to see we're not alone! If Channel 41 was airing a full schedule of dramas, there's no way we'd have made it this far. From what I read, when this show was first broadcast, it was up against Yi San, one of the better recent historical dramas, and I Love You was completely squashed in the ratings, and if ever a series deserved to be stomped by its competition, I Love You is that series! My votes for a good smack, the Top 5 in order are: 1.) Jung Hyun Jung and Choi Soo Jin, the screenwriters of this series. I guess it does take a special type of writing skill to create so many characters that are both unlikeable and uninteresting! 2.)The cheating lawyer - the same actor was also irritating as the flaky doctor in Alone in Love, so he gets an extra smack for that! 3.)The hairstylist! (Poor Ahn Jae Wook!) 4.)The music supervisor - this show has one of the most irritating soundtracks ever in a K-drama, and that says a lot. How about the muzak versions of the horrible title song? Aigoo! 5.)Jinhee - how bad does a series have to be when an immature and reprehensible woman who doesn't mention her miscarriage and marries out of hatred/revenge comes in fifth on a list like this? Less than a month to go...

I don't dislike this series. Although if it was up against anything else it would probably be in trouble.
My list. 1) Sleazy Lawyer Dude (Lifetime achievement award) 2) Mother in law who wears fake jewelry and tries to make someone pay as if it was real. 3) Wife of Sleazy Layer (for the hotel stunt) 4) Artist girl trying to go after a married man. 5) Girl allowing her husband to buy stuff for their miscarried baby.

That's the kind of praise this series inspires! JB, you might get contacted by the DVD box blurb people for that. If someone from YA Entertainment or YesAsia is reading this, I have a couple blurbs you can choose from: "Not the worst series I've ever seen" or "Tolerable for the most part!" Your list is really good, especially #4 - I mean, what can she possibly be thinking? After much thought, I have to add one more to the list: Jinsoo, the reporter from the Grand Chef. Even though she's from the preceding show, the residual irritation is so great that she even makes the list for this one, especially after last week's tadpole song on the mountainside. I do have to give this series a little credit. I thought last week's episode was actually better than the Grand Chef, and the direction and acting aren't bad, except for the lawyer and his (ex)wife. I'm also watching Dong Yi(mostly in fast forward) and the "comic relief" of the half-witted buffoon characters from that show make me appreciate the acting and direction of this one. The other reason this show is worth watching is Seo Ji Hye. She's very likeable and her performance is the most credible of anyone's in the cast. For fans of the alternate universe effect, she's also in the new MBC pseudo-historical drama Kim Soo Roo/Kim Suro:

I think *I* deserve one of those smacks upside my head because I keep watching.
As mentioned, if we still had a full schedule with multiple dramas available, this one would rank right up there with "You are my Density" (Destiny). Disappointing follow up to "Alone in Love" and "Someday".
And Grand Chef is worse… much. It makes Iron Empress look like a blockbuster, and we all remember how much fun we made of that one in the good old days.
So somebody slap me …please… Thanks… I needed that.

JB, I'd bet that MIL just gives fake jewelry as gifts but doesn't wear it herself. She's sneaky. That necklace was supposed to be given to some girl she set up as a date for her son, on their second date. I've forgotten just how the son happened to give it to his girlfriend/fiancee. (I remember her asking, "How can she give such an expensive necklace when you hardly know her [the date]?")
