Jinpung and Sujin are married now, and they go off to their honeymoon. And just as they leave, Daepung is told that he’s gotta go. His bedroom now belongs to the newlyweds.
Daepung meets with Boksil’s sister (who actually seems sympathetic towards him) and she tells him that Boksil is leaving for America because she hates her father. This brightens things a little for Daepung – until he discovers that Boksil’s old boyfriend has already lined up a job in America, and that he intends to follow her there.
Daepung returns home, only to be booted from his own bedroom when workers arrive to put in new wallpaper. So, he goes back to Boksil’s house, and waits for her outside her gate. And, when she shows up, he offers to buy her a diamond ring.
Boksil (who seems to understand what he’s trying to say) still asks him to clarify what he means. Daepung rambles about how they should get married because his parents tell him he has to marry someone. And that his parents have set him up for a blind date, but that he’d rather marry someone he already knows.
Boksil, naturally, rejects what must have been the world’s worst-ever marriage proposal, and she tells him that, to the very end, he has done nothing but make her hate him . . .
Doctor Dad meets with Boksil, and he tells her that if she’s going to America to fulfill her ambitions, then okay, but if she’s leaving for some other reason, she should reconsider. He seems to sense that she’s escaping to America because she wants to avoid dealing with issues at home. And yes, while Boksil seems determined to leave for America , she also does seem to be confused and hesitant.
Doctor Dad, we discover, is suffering from “Steno Cardia” (whatever that is) and that it’s curable with surgery. But, Doctor Dad says he can’t leave the hospital unattended.
Daepung returns home to discover his bedroom has been transformed – and that his personal belongings have been put into storage. He complains that he has nowhere to go, but Dad says “too bad.” Find yourself a woman, get married, and move in with your new wife, he says. Daepung – almost seeming a little pathetic – tells his dad that he already tried proposing to the woman he loves, and that she rejected him.
Meanwhile, the feud continues between Seonpung’s in-laws. Seonpung and Eunji, though, have secretly made up – but they have to keep the appearance of the feud going for the FIL’s sake. MIL makes some hesitant moves towards patching things up with FIL, but stubborn FIL rejects them. So the feud rages on.
Jinpung and Sujin return from the honeymoon, and move in to the family house. Sujin, though, makes a huge blunder, as she arrives without any gifts for the in-laws. Worse, when Eunji shows up soon afterwards to welcome them, she brings along a huge meal, already prepared for them by her mom (making Sujin look even worse). Mom grumbles that it’s obvious that Sujin didn’t have a proper upbringing, as she knows nothing of etiquette.
Eunji goes to Suhui’s room, and invites her to join them for dinner. Suhui declines, making up some lame excuses about having to feed Baby Hana. Suhui later goes out (by herself) into the dark evening, sad and depressed. She phones her mother looking for sympathy, but her mom rudely asks her what trouble she’s in now, and then she says that she hasn’t the time to talk with her. Now, Suhui is even more depressed.
Mipung comes home, and notices that she’s not there. He goes outside and hunts her down, and he scolds her for not thinking of herself as part of the family.
It’s getting late, and Daepung – now with nowhere to live – decides to take Doctor Dad up on the offer to move in with him, and help him write his research report.
You know that Boksil’s just gonna love it when she finds out about this . . .
