Living in Los Angeles as I do, I'm more likely to be an inadvertent spoiler than the one who gets spoiled. I always try not to spill the beans on anything of significance, but sometimes something I thought was no big deal turns out to be something I probably shouldn’t have said – and I soon regret that I opened my big mouth.
As long as spoilers are identified as such (and allow the reader a chance to choose for themselves if they want to get spoiled) I personally think it’s okay, but I also know that many of us don’t have the willpower we’d like to have and we immediately regret having our curiosity satisfied. So, it’s hard for me to pick sides on this. If the majority chooses a strict “no spoiler” policy, I’ll be happy to comply.

I think spoilers are perfectly ok as long as they're marked as such. Just about every forum I've visited for fans of a tv show have spoilers. People are usually conscientious about careful labeling.
I think anyone who is old enough to get on the internet and figure out how to find discussion groups and read messages is old enough to take responsibility for their own self-control. If I give in to temptation and peek at a spoiler, then immediately regret it and wish that I hadn't, it's my own problem, not the person who posted the spoiler (as long as it was labeled spoiler) and not the forum for having a spoiler-tolarant policy.
The only thing that bothers me about spoilers is when people either forget or just don't think of it, and they drop something relatively revealing in an ordinary discussion/thread, w/ no warning they're giving a spoiler.

I don't care for spoilers, but none the less find them as tempting as an open box of chocolates. I think that as long as they are labeled as such, and kept in separate threads, they are acceptable. Just as long as everybody remembers what timelines we are at, here in Chicago.
By that I mean, those ahead of us, be careful what you post; and, those behind us, be careful what you read.

Sorry for the double posting, everyone!
I've been having a lot of trouble the last couple of days with the system...both on this board, and on my own system.

My sympathy for your computer problems, Jade. Just today I decided that running mine has passed up driving as my potentially most irritating activity. The Monty Python song SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM comes to mind. How prophetic they were. Even if we had a 100% voter turnout and everyone was against SPOILERS, it's obvious we couldn't eliminate it completely; as mentioned, it can always come out accidentally, and there are no thought police on this site. It's a problem that will always be there unless Korea decides to shut down their TV programming for a few months to let us all catch up.

I think this board is pretty good when it comes to spoilers. I've stopped visiting other sites because I don't they are as careful as we are about revealing too much information becauase I guess they think only the people in their area are watching and/or reading.
I took a peak once at one of the spoilers (clearly labeled) and did regret it. My own fault though.

Thanks for your sympathy, Yobo! I really was frustrated on Thursday morning. I spent some time entering the recap for goofy onto a message form, but when I tried to preview it, it suddenly was swallowed up. I tried to retrieve it, but it was gone...lost in cyberspace. I put off retyping it a while and tried answering another post. It was only a few short paragraphs, but that too disappeared when I tried to preview it. After that, I was so discouraged and tired out, I didn't try reposting for several hours. When next I went back to doing the recap over, this time I started a new email in my regular mailbox account so that it would be saved if I lost it posting again. Then I cut and pasted to the message form for this board. It did go through this time, but I had a back-up to try again if need be. So far, it hasn't happened again, but I'm using the email message in my saved files from now if I want to post something longer than a couple of lines. I never did try reconstructing the other lost post. Jade Eyes
