As the episode opens, Gong-mi has fetched Gil-ran back from Yeonamjeong; we don't know what KTY is up to for a bit. Gil-ran asks Gong-mi not to tell her mom she had been wishing for a father. "You're so nice," says Gong-mi. "If my kids were as nice as you I would have had seven more." (She has four already by the way!)
Back in Seoul, Yun Jang-hwa is visiting her mom. She complains that KTY is always working and neglecting her, and worrying about his mom instead of about her. She says she's going to start working out again, go back to school, and start her own business. She doesn't want to hear about her mom's problems either, especially YJH's father. Her mom reassures her that her father hasn't been there for a whole year.
YJH goes to her health club to re-open her membership, which has been on hold for the last year, but is told that her card has been in use and in fact someone is using it right now! It's being used by Jin Jeong-hae - you might have thought that it was uncharacteristically generous of Jang-hwa to have even loaned out her membership card to Jeong-hae (see Episode 9*), so here's the explanation, she didn't, Jeong-hae had just lifted it, figuring that Jang-hwa wasn't using it. Jeong-hae is chatting up Maeng Hyeong-kyu, who thinks her name is Jang-hwa. As Jang-hwa confronts her, she tries to tell Hyeong-kyu that she is going to be changing her name now to Jeong-hae - a name Hyeong-kyu thinks he recognizes - but Jang-hwa has club security escort her out! "What a cold wretch!" she exclaims.
But the main action this week is going on back in Chungcheong. Hong Ryeon is looking for the missing Princess. Some neighborhood women tell her they saw her going off with two men. She goes back to the house and calls Su-chan's assistant -
(Let me interrupt here to say that after the assistant, who is calling from Su-chan's warehouse, rings off, Su-ok comes in and has brought Su-chan's seal because they are selling their house and closing the deal today. Su-chan doesn't seem entirely committed to the move to Seoul, but Su-ok points out that his other business there is doing well, and the only reason they have stayed put is because he is crazy over Hong Ryeon. "When you die, they'll put 'Crazy Fool' on your tombstone!" she says.)
Anyway, the assistant says he thinks he recognized the gangster as working for some gangster agency, so she hustles over there and confronts the whole room full of gangsters demanding to know where her mom is. They say they don't know, the "crazy woman ran away," and she can't go on living in the Dragon House because they'll be back every day.
As she leaves, she in fact sees the very gangster who was kicking at the door earlier, walking toward the agency, talking on her cell phone, and she is completely startled. She has a flashback - we see her face, happy, uttering the words, "Seok-du, I'm pregnant!" Furtively, she gets back on the motorbike and takes off before the gangster can notice her.
But, going back a bit, what REALLY happened (as we learn from a scene in the police station) is that Seok-du** apparently went in the house to cause trouble and stepped on Princess' favorite card from her game, and she used her ear move on him and seriously pulled his ear, and then a cop pulled them in, and now HE is trying to complain about her! "Why did you go in the house in the first place?" asks a cop. "I wanted to ask for a glass of water." Meanwhile Princess gets out of the police station and heads on home.
As for Tae-yun, we see him giving out flyers on the street again, and he has grown about a week's worth of whiskers in the space of an hour or so!! (In fact I think they just spliced in a few seconds of the footage from when he was giving out flyers in Seoul in the earlier episode. It really looks a lot more like Seoul than this little town.) He was quite well-dressed and dapper when he got out of his car in Yeonamjeong in the last episode, but now he has gotten rid of his suit coat and looks grubby and unkempt again so as to advance a plot device. Sorry, but I have to be honest here. Anyway, Secretary Choi calls him from the police station (why didn't KTY go to the police station first? oh, well) and says he has good news. KTY goes there and is told they recognize his mother, that she seems well, she "met a good woman" who cares for her like his own mother, and they live at the Dragon House about 4 km. away. Tae-yun tries calling there, but this is around the time that HR was running in and out and using the phone to call Su-chan's assistant, so he first gets no answer and then a busy signal and then nothing, so finally the police officer offers to drive him over there; meanwhile Secretary Choi has to go and call off the other leafleters, which he will use the car for I guess.
Gil-ran has come back home and found Princess working in the garden. They chat about wishing for things at Yeonamjeong - Princess would wish that her baby eats well and is happy, and that "the three of us" will always be happy. Meanwhile the officer drops KTY off at the Dragon House, and he finds the two of them chatting in the garden. He cries tears of joy. Princess recognizes him as someone she knows, at least, and the two embrace. He washes Princess' feet; the three are chatting; Gil-ran says, "Princess said you were poor. Do you want something to eat?" Princess, rather shockingly, repeats that thing about Gil-ran being "born on the street". KTY goes in the house to rinse out the cloth, and at that moment HR comes back. On hearing that someone else is in the house, she jumps to the conclusion that he must be one of the gangsters; she is on a hair-trigger when someone she cares for is threatened, and now she starts yelling at KTY, won't let him get a word in edgewise, doesn't listen to Princess and Gil-ran trying to enlighten her, and is physically restrained by them from hitting him!
* Really there is a continuity error here. The first health club scene, where Jeong-hae sees Hyeong-kyu, should have been aired after the one-year jump (Ep. 10 or 11), not in Episode 9.
** This is a microspoiler, since we aren't -explicitly- told in this episode that this guy really is Seok-du.
