Has everybody been missing YJ's perpetually happy, carefree little grin for about long enough now? I have to wonder if the guy HJ knew and loved Stateside was the sullen, aloof killjoy he is now. If so, that's the only way I can understand how she can want him as he is. Then again, JY never seemed to notice the total lack of interest in her that SM showed in the first few episodes! These days it seems that HJ may finally be wising up, though, because of what she's caught him doing. This may even lead to her leaving him, which I'm afraid will have to be the case eventually, since he could never do to her anything like SM did to JY. Just too nice a guy, even as miserable as he is.

It kind of makes me mad that the whole story leading up to the engagement was skipped over. I'm hoping they'll have some kind of flashback scenes to what we purportedly missed. Maybe the original screenplay would have had something on this. BTW, I'm replying to my own post because I was out of room after a certain point. This has happened to both my longer posts today, and never before. Anyone else experienced this?

You are right, Yobo, about the cheery, always optimistic Young-joon not showing a single sign of his former self. Very sad what a broken heart will do to a man (or a woman). As for the engagement, I don't think we missed anything. Didn't that guy who posts here sometimes and translates the screenplay from the kbs site using a Korean dictionary say something about this? I'm pretty sure he posted that he looked over the screenplay for that ep. and said there was nothing in it about how Young-joon's engagement to Hyun-ji came about. He said it was just as we saw it...leaving it to the imagination of the viewer what must've transpired after Young-joon moved back in w/ his grandmother and the perenniel houseguest. I thought it was a little too rough doing it that way, and would have preferred to see some kind of build up to it. But I guess the producers wanted to advance the story quickly and felt that whole business could be dispensed w/ and the story not hurt. Your other question, I don't know. Are you saying you left the computer for a while and while you were away, what you had written thus far was automatically posted? That seems very strange. I must say that's never happened to me...but I've never been interrupted very long during a post here. I have no idea why that would happen. Oh, btw...congratulations to you too, Yobo, on making Senior Addict immediately after me. I guess 100 must be the key #. I wonder what follows? Jade Eyes

First of all, congrats indeed to all of you who are making this a very fun and bustling board. By the time I get home and read everything it's time to have dinner and get ready for a new bunch of topics to ponder--a new YH. JadeEyes, I thought too about HJ maybe not wanting anymore what she was wishing for now that she has it. On the other hand we can't easily take things at face value with this show. The teaser has her scheming something with MJ again, or maybe she's just doing what she probably should be doing--making it a situation where YJ has to follow her to the States to prove his supposed love for her, to get away from the temptation JY presents, and to finally free JY from his long tentacles. By the time anyone reads this I guess we'll know something on this. The problem I had was with the scroll-down indicator- when it got to the bottom of the square it wouldn't budge any further, but it seems ok now, thank goodness.
