Meant to post this last week, but didn't have time. I almost fell on the floor from yelling out loud when Min-joo scolded Sang-min for having the accident (which was her fault for assigning him to the construction site) that caused her such panic. She has got to be the most self-centered person in Korea--though Hyun-ji runs a close second. Everything is about her. Her husband is badly hurt and could've been killed because of her insane vendetta and childish temper tantrum and she finds an opportunity to scold him for causing her worry --- as if he had the accident purposely to make trouble for her.
About Sang-min's injuries: once again, YH takes sweeping liberties w/ medical facts. The description of his injuries was odd, I thought. We're told he has four broken ribs and a sprained ankle -- but fortunately there's no brain damage! We see a scrape on his face and a bandage wrapped around his forehead, w/ enough of a wound on the front, apparently, to seep blood through for a whole day, judging by the splotch of red paint on it. But nothing is ever said about any kind of head injury, which, if there is one, would be the most important issue. It's obvious he hit his head in the fall. We should have heard he had a concussion or something, but that it appears it wasn't severe enough to cause brain damage.
I don't understand what the business w/ getting him a "caregiver" is. The hospital provides "caregivers", aka nurses. You don't need a private caregiver when a patient is in a hospital...that's something you might do once the patient is released but can use some help at home until fully recovered. There is private-duty nursing, but Sang-min certainly doesn't appear sick enough to need such a thing. He looks able enough to reach the call button and the phone. If he needs something, he can summon a nurse and get whatever assistance he needs.
Last of all, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that a health care system that would admit a pregnant woman in her first trimester to the hospital for a few days for banging her head and having no other medical problems just so she can "get rest" and breathe humidified air would have a man w/ a few broken ribs stay in-patient for 4 weeks, which is what MJ said was the situation for SM. I can tell you that in the US, it's very unlikely that he would even be admitted overnight for those injuries. Most likely scenario is he'd be treated in the emergency room and sent home the same day. Even w/ a concussion, it's not likely they'd admit him...at the most, possibly overnight just for observation. No way would he stay in 4 weeks. I can't believe it's that much different in Korea.
We know he must be in the same hospital where MJ was, though, because he has a refrigerator in his room, LOL!
Also, for transferring a patient from one hospital to another, no way would the ambulance use its flashing lights and siren...not unless he was being rushed to another hospital for emergency surgery, which he wasn't. He's already been assessed at the nearby hospital and deemed stable enough for transfer. So the ambulance would simply take him at the normal speed of other traffic and would not use lights or siren. I'd be very surprised if even in Korea it was so very different.
They do like to go for the drama, though!
