It also seems that the whole gay thing went out the window, and now they're just focusing on him physically abusing Suin.

lol about Seongtae, brooklyn. He's small and skinny but with the meanest eyes. Sort of like Chowon's. It would be interesting if she came back into the picture and hooked up with Seongtae to split Suin and Hyeonsu apart.
I liked that Grandpa tried to convince Lady Doc to give Hyeonsu some slack, pointing out that she too raised a child that wasn't her own. But I didn't understand her answer. She told him she and Jisu dressed alike and she did everything to keep the truth from her and from others and she didn't want her son to go thru what she had to. Was she protecting Jisu by raising her in a lie? Or herself? I don't understand why it was so stressful especially since it all turned out so well.

Yep,I thought that was one silly statement by her!!She gives me the impression that a child's individual character isn't important to her and that it is such a burden to bring up someone else's child.Jisu did turn out so well,so what's the problem? At the same time, she says she cant let Jisu go!!What a strange assumption to have;that Jisu will leave her when she finds out she isn't her biological daughter.Afterall, she knows Jisu has a warm heart!!)Maybe she has a very poor grasp of human nature and life in general?

Door60! The gay storyline will come up they are establishing the ground work, they have to show what the ex is all about. That is leaverage for Suin and her Dad, the ex b'friend will make an appearence. Why are they putting so much importance on the ex/ he is divorced from Suin, what can he do now? Everyone is quaking around the ex, they are the ones giving him more power to be despicable. That family is mentality challenged, they all have 'dilusion of grandeur'. Another thing, why is the family so caught up in their grown adult children's lives? Why! Why!

I don't understand how the gay thing hasn't been thrown at him yet either, door.
Puppy & Pilseung, I guess because the child, even though blood related, is for neither of them biologically and here Suin is pregnant by another man. So the baby's a total stranger to hyeonsu, and both the baby's parents are still alive so the truth in that situation can't be covered up. Just a crazy thought lol.

Once Lady Doc realizes that Suin is her niece and therefore Hyeonsu's cousin and already family (right?) she has even more ammunition to oppose her. So does Suin's mom if she cares to. I recall from other dramas that cousins, or related family, even if not by blood, can't marry.
I'm glad that Jisu and Grandpa are being sensible about Suin and Hyeonsu (at least for now) but with Seongtae back on the scene, Chowon sure to show up, and now this "family" thing, the odds are stacking up against the pair.

How is Suin Lady Doc's niece? Her biological parents are the owner of the entertainment industry, who is not related to the Han family, and we do not know who her biological mother is.

Let's see if we can straighten out the relationship line: Suin's bio mother is deceased; her bio father is the head of the entertainment corporation, who is married to Jisu's bio mother. Lady Doc is Hyeonsu's bio mother and she is Jisu's "adopted" mother but Jisu's bio FATHER was Lady Doc' deceased brother-in-law. Suin's STEP-MOTHER is Jisu's BIO-MOTHER. That's the relationship link in her mind. It's not a blood link but as we've seen in past K-dramas, it's plenty ammunition for a family to forbid a marriage they don't want in the first place . . . and so the story goes . . . .

I've got to say, this drama is a ho-hummer for me. The whole energy level is so weak. Can Suin's mother speak any softer? The Aunt brings some energy to the screen, even though it's negative, but at least you feel as though she is alive. And, quite truthfully, her reactions are realistic. People fight over money all the time. When Grandfather decided to give his money to Minsu, and the Aunt was so upset becasue she knew she would not get her share of the inheritance -- totally realistic. Also, Minsu and his wife have some firey moments. But, all in all, I find this drama sleep inducing, and I have actually dozed off 2 or 3 times since its airing.

I read these comments so many times. If I feel that way about a show, as I did in Mother's Dead Upset, (I know I'm in the minority), I just use the "Off" button on the TV.

Will KBS ever get the emotional content in their daily drama just right? That is,less negative than YAMD but more perky than The Road Home.

OK; I got it Soapy. Thanks! Not "blood" but family just the same so my contention might still hold true for the lovers and their respective families.
I don't know why I get the relationships so balled up. Maybe it's because, while I don't snooze like Dorrie or hit Off like teacher, I do tend to trip out on this drama from time to time. I should either watch more carefully or cash in my chips and read a book.

Don't tell me ex hubby has a crush on Hyeonsu? Or am I reading too much into that? I'm really enjoying his screen time over everyone else so far, I've never seen a vengeful ex in any of the k-dramas I've watched before, I think.
Suin's mom's putty attitude really ruin's what could be good scenes, Door, like in the restaurant with Suin's ex-MIL, some water could've been thrown there and then in the salon she could've thrown some curlers too. I'm not asking her to be as jumpy as gangster aunt and claw everyone, but show a little fire man, gees.

Exactly, Brooklyn. Plus I always feel like saying, "Talk louder, I can barely hear you!"
