Grayson,I dont understand which sibling other than Minsu can be considered spoilt or selfish. Kindly name the other sibling. The adjective you used to describe the siblings' behavior is probably offensive to some members of our board.Would you be kind enough to use a substitute word? Thanks.

Thanks pilseung.
The writers are hitting hard on the "goes around/comes around" relationship of Minsu, his dad and his grand dad. But so far, I don't see the dad as selfish and immature as Minsu clearly is. Until we find out more, it seems the dad tried his best to save his brother (and mother, too I think) but grandpa blames him for their deaths. Minsu on the other hand, is definitely at fault with the insurance scam. He borrows $$ and doesn't say Thank you, he tears his hair, yells at his wife (who said last nite that she couldn't live without him; what's the deal with that???) and now that dad is willing to take the rap, Minsu screams, "I don't want to be in your debt!"
I also think Minsu may have had an affair; or at least he was a bit of a scallywag. He married his wife because she was preg and remember the coming home late with lipstick on his collar incident? He's sneaky and his mom spoils him. I don't know how Hyeonsu and Jisu managed to escape her overbearing overprotection.

Another great k-drama scene last nite -- the Dr. fainting in the police station. Now usually it's the women in the k-dramas that faint when they hear bad news, but this time it was the father. Or maybe, he had a heart attack. In LON, when the father got the bad news that his son-in-law was ripping him off, the father collapsed and had a stroke or heart attack. I guess the writers of these k-dramas have women faint, but the men get some serious illnesses -- don't you think that' s the formula?

I do remember that scene in LON, Dorrie. He ended up in hospital with the drip thingie in his arm. They ALWAYS end up with the drip thingie even if they stub a toe. In the American soaps, it's the two little thingies in the nostrils, the oxygen thingies. In K-dramas, it's drips.
The dad is being very noble but I don't think his older son and his wife have any respect for him. She went behind his back and got the old man to risk his house and she always sticks up for Minsu. (It's funny how she's dissatisfied with Hyeonsu's single status and tries to boss him around when it's Munsu, whose marriage is anything but comforting, could use a slap in the face.
I really like the lady doc actress, her whiskey voice and expressive eyes. But I don't like the character she plays here. She was a cross, spoiled MIL in a drama a while back (can't remember the name). She wrote a tell-all book or article or something and tried to keep it secret.

I think the drama you're referring to is Pure In the Heart

I agree, puppy, no matter how they try to show that Minsu, his dad, and grandma have a boomerang relationship, Minsu gets a big 'ol wrongbang lol. They should've called Miryeong, Simpleton, she's so gullible and takes everything he says and does to her. We all saw how the modelling revenge scheme worked out x.x. She needs to think more before doing things.

To any who was offended by the term my apologies, it does not mean what you think, the term means a person of low class, trashy. The siblings I spoke of is Minsu and his sister (the aunt) she want everything to be handed to her but any other person who wants help they must discuss it with her, i.e her remarks when she heard what SIL went to FIL. What can she do? Can she help? She is a tight wad who does not want to give up a penny.

Oh that was so low of Minsu. How exactly does one fake a stroke so well that even brain hemorrhage occurs? lol Gees, this guy just doesn't want to give in to his father for nothing. And gangster aunt just had to come and demonstrate; I'm surprised she didn't yell at her sister-in-law for not showing grief.
I liked that scene with Suin and sumi in the room. Showed a glimpse that Sumi actually cares even though she shows it the wrong way.

Grayson, if you meant someone is of low class and trashy, please say that, rather than using some kind of "shorthand" about people of a certain race. I don't know how to explain to you how many layers of offensiveness are contained in doing that. Please just be more careful, and if you have any questions, I know any moderator would be happy to discuss it with you via PM. Bo

Good post, Bo. Grayson may have meant "niggardly" which is a bona fide word meaning stingy or withholding. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

Thanks Bo! But that term has been in my family for generations, it also in the "ebonics" dictionary, yes I know the meaning of "niggardly" nontheless, I'm pleased you accepted my apologies.
Do you believe Minsu's share absurdity? What gives with this guy? He begged everyone and the kitchen sink and has yet to pay back a dime, but still wants more. Who is the head of that household? Is it Jonjin and his wife or "motor mouth auntie"?
