Ja-young is just too nice to pull off a silly, mean trick like this. If she had just faded off into the sunset, gradually losing interest in YJ, instead of the grand finale in which she made him happier than he had ever been, he may have not been so persistent in his search, and figured she was no longer interested in him. She probably did it for her own pleasure as well as for her generosity and sympathy for him. Now her escape has turned into a total fiasco, with nothing accomplished and with her looking like a fool before everyone. And she can't exactly go back to Seoul now that she's started showing.

It seems to me JY never really thought her plan out too far. It should have been obvious to her--as I think it was to all of us watching--that YJ wouldn't just accept her disappearance and her decision to remove herself from his life "for his own good". She ought to have known he would search for her, and that he has the skills to find her.
If she really was ready to hurt him (which she did by leaving him the way she did), she may as well have lied and told her she didn't love him and wanted nothing more to do w/ him. He's too kind a man to force himself on a woman who has made it clear she doesn't love or want him. But by going into hiding as did and letting him know it was to spare him the misery of being estranged from his grandmother, what did she expect him to do? Doing it that way, she not only hurt him just as badly, but she gave him no reason at all not to search for her. So her plan failed (in short order) and she brought a lot of additional pain on all of them (including her grandmother, who had to run interference). it was a lose-lose equation all around.
I couldn't believe she couldn't think of anything better to do than stand there behind that wall for all those hours, waiting for him to leave. There must've been some other way out. I realize these are fictional characters, but...I can't believe she could stand on her feet all those hours and not collapse w/ exhaustion...or need to go to the bathroom, or have a drink of water. If nothing else, it seems she could've called the other grandma on the cell phone to ask her to come out and chase Young-joon off by threatening to call the police or something. It makes me wonder if on some level, she really wanted the plan to fail and Young-joon to find her.

JadeEyes, you totally read my mind. Ask any pregnant woman if she would be able to stand all those hours, in HEELS and she would probably just laugh and tell you you're crazy. Also, why didn't JY rent a car so as to not make it so obvious that it was him? And for goodness sake, why was he looking everywhere but straight ahead? Or walk around? I guess it adds good dramatic tension though...i guess

>:(you're all correct, i really mad at JY, why can't she just accept JY's love and be happy, its really frustrating that she worries about everybody else's happiness but herself, i really hopes she wakes up and doesn't let JY get away, because if you saw today's episode it looks like JY finally is giving up , i really hope something happens and they stay together.

Wasn't yesterday's preview absolutely heartbreaking? I felt so bad for JY and YJ, but especially for YJ because he is suffering so much. He loves her so much. I especially loved the part where he tells JY that he's never pictured his future without her. Grandma Sohn is really getting on my bad side though. When she asked Huynji what else she could do to make YJ come home I felt like telling her, "You idiot, if you want him to come home, ACCEPT Ja-young!" Such a great drama. I believe every second of it.
