For me its between Legend and Kingdom especially as both dramas share very similar plot lines ,budget ,music not to mention a Dojin like bad guy complete with similar Luv Triangle . I have not seen the 34 episode Directors cut of Legend . So here is the Toss -Up Gwanggaeto has a cute Tomboy sidekick (in fact she could have jumped ship from Coffee Prince )and Mu-hyul has Maro . Son Il Guk is better in this type of role than Bae jun (I forget the spelling of his name )Yong though the Winter Sonata Alumini does a good job .
legend has a silly Wizard in a Red Cape that seems out of place
So its KINGDOM for me . I only posted the recent dramas as few have seen stuff like ''TALES FROM THE THREE KINGDOMS 'and JA MYUNG GO does not start until next Month . for me JUMONG and DJY were overlong and suffered from bad pacing in the middle sections while KINGDOM seems way to short .

“Legend” wasn’t subbed on my satellite broadcast, but of what I watched I had mixed feelings. I liked much of the cinematography, and some of the individual episodes were nicely done, but I wasn’t that thrilled with the lead actor (Bae what’s-his-name). He seemed to have been cast for his looks more than his acting ability. Song Il-gook doesn’t have the pretty-boy look, but I think he’s a more capable actor. Also, the show’s wizardry stuff got awfully hokey sometimes.
On that count, I think “Kingdom” is a better show, overall (despite it’s sometimes questionable historical accuracy).
I agree completely that “Jumong” and “Dae Jo Young” were both too long. Both started out well, and then went downhill from there. And both were also a little silly and impossible to believe at times (DJY was worse than “Jumong” in this respect).
Yeon Gae-so-mun was the opposite: it started out awfully bad, but by show’s end I was really enjoying it. That was a show I really hated to see end.
I thus voted for YGSM . . . but it’s a only narrow win over KOTW.
