DOMYOUNGCHUN Well, I called Comcast about it but they said that channel 197 is not available in Campbell (may be it will be in the future …….) Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the “Han Video” store in the local telephone book, neither on the web. Do you know their exact address? However, there is another Asian video store in San Jose I used to rent DVD-s. They have lots of Korean Dramas (Yi Soon Shin, Seo Dong Yo, The Legend etc…) www.tigercinema.com/action/films~browse_titles/type/tv/I have just finished watching Jumong and to tell you the truth, I was a little disappointed because I read great reviews about it (although, I liked the first 20 episodes). They should have kept Haemosu alive a little longer! It was the most difficult role to play a blind person and the actor was just “phenomenal”, so was King Kumwa. However, I cannot say the same for the performance of Song Il Gook… Also, he should have been a more charismatic leader (like Choi Soo Jong in DJY). Anyway, I liked Dae Jo Young much better.

The show is not enjoying good ratings in Korea esp. the past few episodes (Korean schedule).

www.veoh.com/channels/kingsejongI'm not sure this link will work - I sent it to myself at home and it didn't work so well. However, it links to a veoh site that SAYS that if you download their "little program" you can watch. It lists episodes 1 through 15. I haven't tried it myself because it wants you to register (makes me leery). And they must have been downloaded from overseas because there are no subtitles. HOWEVER, because of the wonderful episode summaries here, you can print each one out and refer to it as you watch the action??? Apologies if this has been discussed before. I also found a few episode highlights (also sans subtitles) on you tube. JoCal

I am downloading it from a few places: the alt.binaries.korea Usenet newsgroup (via giganews), torrents via D-addicts (Slow!), and someone has made it available via MegaUpload on Nhatkyviet.com. Somone on D-addicts is doing fansubs fo Yi-San, which you have to combine with the .AVI's of the eps yourself. A bit of work, but the results look stunning. doing the same for King Sejong, too. SOJU Thank you for the sites but the downloading didn't work for me. Could you give me more info about it if it's not too much trouble for you? First of all, when I tried to download Yi San from nhatkyviet.com (with Megaupload) I got an "error" message from Windows Media Player. I don't understand why, because I have never got this message before . However, previously I have only downloaded AVI files with "hardsubs" from Megauploads (and used Adsen file splitter to join it). "Raw" files are different? Furthermore, if I will be able to download the video files, how can I combine it with the subtitles (for each episode)? What software do I need? Sorry for the "stupid" questions but I am a beginner at downloadings...... Thanks in advance Almos

To tell the truth, I have not downloaded all the parts of one ep via nhatkviet, as I don't have a Mega-upload account, so I have limits on how much I can DL in a day. I would assume they could be joined with HJ Split, but I don't know yet. The whole converting and adding subs thing is a little more than I want to get into in this thread; you can find out about it at videohelp.com. There's also some good tutorials on the Philly board. I have just been doing this because I think it's cool just that you can, but I'm having serious second thoughts. It's quite time consuming, and then you have to watch the things, right? I'm so far behind in all the current dramas on ch41 it doesn't make much sense to take this on for a show that is already up to ep 65. Mikey PMed me doubting my sanity for doing this, and I'm inclined to agree with him ;D I think it's more practical to do this with shorter dramas; I did it with "Lucifer/the Devil" (16 eps, I think), and the results were beautiful.

SOJU, thanks for the info. It sounds really complicated and time consuming. I think, it would be better if I just download "Yi San" without subtitle and learn the Korean language...... Apropos, do you know that you can download "The Great King Sejong" (thanks to jmong) from www.kbfd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2030&start=30&sid=b9e30e9d007f96559f14af48f0e4df8aSometimes the episodes are 5-10 minutes shorter (because he might cut out some scenes along with the commercials) but it is better than nothing. Since AZN was ceased this is the only place I can get Sejong with English subs.

rendezvous--Thanks so much for the update. If you get any more ratings info as the series progresses I'd sure appreciate your sharing it.
I kind of figured that some people might give up on the series; it's much more complicated than the last historical drama was and it's not easy to keep the plot and the characters all straight. But still, I would have thought that if the ratings were going to fall, it would have happened sooner than this. It will be interesting to see if it continues or if it levels off.
