Just a question, for now. The fact that the prince had been kidnapped surprised me. Was there a fuss made, or a big announcement in the palace or what? I saw the Crown Prince being told to leave the audience chamber, saying he's concerned for the princes' safety (I thought he meant all the princes) and the queen was adamant about being heard, but I didn't know about what. Then later someone said he was missing, but as though, well, everybody knows that...
I hope I learn to recognize some faces and names soon. I was very confused. Is the chief plotter the King's brother?

I tuned into this show about 1:05p.m. Wednesday and there was a night raid already underway. I had trouble following the plot, partly because I've not yet sorted out who is who, but it also just seemed hard to follow. Maybe I missed a crucial moment in the first five (or ten??) minutes, I don't know. I didn't see the "making of" episode, so maybe there was important information there. GinnyCat, I wondered the same things as you do. I hope things become clearer in the next episode.

Was there a fuss made, or a big announcement in the palace or what? They don't really show that an announcement was made but you just have to assume that if a prince goes missing, it's going to be a big deal. Is the chief plotter the King's brother? No. I tuned into this show about 1:05p.m. Wednesday and there was a night raid already underway. I had trouble following the plot, partly because I've not yet sorted out who is who, but it also just seemed hard to follow. The raid in the beginning was a training exercise but someone really did break into palace and there was a murder. I can understand how the story might be somewhat confusing because, as viewers, you're thrown right into things and little is explained.

That opening "Ninja" attack would have been more exciting if the pre-show had not explained that this was digital. It kind of took the excitement away for me. I really wish they had saved that preview and shown it as a post-production program. As to the confusion, the same thing happened to me at the beginning of DJY. It took a while, but the characters eventually became real and recognizable.

I'm with you on the confused part. I think we're used to the DJY characters and it may take a while to get used to new ones. Any idea what time this ep. started? I changed the channel at 7:50 on Tuesday and it was already on and I'm not sure how much I missed.

I'm with you, teacher--we didn't need to see any of that before the series started. They should have saved it for afterwards like they did with IYSS.
The infiltration sequence is what started the episode, so anyone who tuned in at that point didn't miss anything. Somebody posted the sequence on YouTube, so anybody who missed some or all of it can see it there.

The same thing happened to me, chi-- I tuned in and already there was some kind of a debate going on between some Ming generals and "our guys"... someone at the station obviously was asleep at the wheel and started the show at 7:40 or earlier! Luckily, I recorded it the next day at 1:00 p.m. (or rather, 12:30... I wasn't taking chances!), and will watch it when I have a chance.
I found that the show was fast moving- very fast moving. It was difficult to keep up with, and the information is still aimlessly buzzing in my head.
They sure got the series started with a bang... or should I say, a hang? Seriously: in the first 15 minutes of the series someone has been murdered, and has caligraphy written on his back with disappearing ink? Phew!

i think it's been pretty interesting...lots of characters that seem "grey" -- not strictly good or bad.
If someone could post a photo list, that woul be helpful (and inclue previous roles as well...such as Kim Gap Soo being in previous dramas like Emperor of the Sea & Age of Warriors & Wang Guhn)
i am definitely intrigued, and want to see how things progress.

I saw at least 7 or 8 familiar faces, but haven't been able to place them as yet. I have hopes for this story.
