I was thinking now that "DJY" is winding down on AZN and seeing as how AZN has already replaced the re -run of" Thank You" with Coffee Prince what will happen when DJY ends in March (by my calculations ),Azn or their subsidary TVK24 have never had a great love for historical drama's to date AZN has only aired . JEWEL IN THE PALACE (in 2005) EMPEROR OF THE SEA (2006) JUMONG (07) HWANG JINI (07) DJY(O7/8) Compared to the no# of soaps aired on AZN its not looking good ,last year i e mailed Alison Keenan one of the head programmers if any more historical K Drama's were in the offing and at that time none were planned . JP Paulus our mod suggested he may e mail AZN (in the Choi with glasses post )about Showing ''THE IMMORTAL YI SOON SHIN "which for those of us who have never seen it by legend ranks up there with the invention of sliced bread and being a drama from 05 AZN could probably get it for next to nothing (anyway cheaper than what they are paying for DJY /Coffee Prince )also i noticed AZN will start airing the chinese (one of the few decent ones not filled with bad jokes and megga flying on wires )drama from 2005 "YOUNG WARRIORS OF THE YANG CLAN "(Think 300 Spartans minus 292 ) starting on the 17th (DJY Fans will love this ) So i was thinking we could start another e mail campaign like we did when AZN were going to drop DJY at 100 episodes (and we know how that ended )asking AZN to run "IYSS" (Yes i did think of "Age Of Warriors "and "Wang Khun"but given how old they are as opposed to IYSS Soon Shin would seem a better bet ). My argument to AZN would be 3 hours of soaps 5 nights a week leaves little variety and having a soap and a historical drama is also a more balanced option ,and it may be wise to point out that most DJY fans are hardly likely to stick with AZN faced with a soap after DJY'S end ....so lets give it a go Alison Keenan's e mail is AlisonKeenan@azntv.com (may be a space between Alison and Keenan i forget ) And sorry for the title for this post but i wanted to get your attention on this issue .

OK, DMC. I too want more history (YiSoonShin sounds wonderful) and more K-dramas on my local affiliate here in PA but they didn't respond to any of my many emails. I asked about KBS in another post (can I get it here? etc.) but what is AZN? (Can I get that and if so, how?) Please forgive this ignorance but I want to add my voice to a plea for greater access to K-dramas in general (plus reruns) so I'm not always dishing out $$ for CD's.

Correct E-mail for Alison Keenan is Alison.Keenan@azntv.com.
With our previous e-mails, we were able to get a cable company to change its programming by extending DJY. Let us see what we can do this time! Don't forget to thank Alison Keenan for her special attention.

Bunny AZN and its (worthless )TVK24 subsidary are Comcast affiliates so it my require you like many of us to sign up with the most overpriced cable company in the Country ,but i read the satellite and dish also carry AZN .
Alison at AZN is very receptive to what veiwers want to see and she is very helpful so i think there is a very good chance if enough people want to see IYSS that we could actualy see it . (would not mind seeing the "YEON GAESOMUN" drama as this 2006 MBC 100 Episode drama would in many aspects be a pre quel to DJY or YI SAN (King Yonjo -Yi Dynasty )which has a lot of buzz too but lets not be greedy . Aside from its legendary reputation as pretty much the greatest historical K Drama to date i think its also the mosr feasible for AZN to pull off .

I checked out the AZN website and, you're right, DMC, I'd need to go Comcast to get the Pan Asia shows or maybe satellite or, I don't know, it's confusing. I live and work out of NE PA right now but also have a place in NYC. I'll probably do better there. And who's Bunny?

After Yi San, MBC will most likely air Il Ji-mae(and so will SBS. a drama based on a same fictional person with different actors). After Il Ji-mae, MBC will air Queen Sunduk of Silla, the first female ruler in Korean history, probably starting this fall. KBS2 will air Kingdom of Wind, yet another drama that takes place in Goguryeo, the most glorious part of Korean history. This will probably be after Hong Gildong, a drama based on a fictional character, is over. KBS1 is currently airing King Sejong after DJY was finished, and I have no clue what it will be airing when King Sejong is over.

BUNNY what was i thinking ...god i must be losing it i meant PUPPY sorry ...me bad .
KINGDOM OF THE WIND i would love to see i love that story and of course its JUMONG'S great grandson ,a story compared to Romeo and Juliet which it pre -dates by some 1500+years and its much more interesting ,if anybody thinks DJY is tragic than should we ever get to see this you better buy stock in Kleenex .
As AZN seem hellbent on running THANK YOU into the ground and no responce from AK (did any body else e mail her or get a reply ??)it would seem 2007 was a banner year for Historical Drama's on that station never to be reapeated as 2008 seems to indicate soap's and re runs of soaps .

Back in the 80's i had the misfortune through no fault of my own (honest !)to witness General Hospital with all that Luke and Laura ,Scorpio /Holly drivel and now (sob!!)there is a Korean remake called AIRCITY if one airing was not bad enough its back . and i fear it will never go away because it has that WS woman in it .
Well AZN do have to sell all those DVD box sets they are so heavily invested in . by and large this station is pretty bad ,80's anime ,endless re-runs of the same films ,really stupid variety shows . 2007 shall be remebered as the year AZN stepped up but by 2008 its was back to the same old garbage (so it seems thus far ) I Actually know two people who only got Comcast to watch DJY and plan to drop them as soon as its over .

Oh, but didn't you enjoy it at the time? I guess Anna DeVane came in later. Did you see her tie Scorpio to a pillar in his apartment and then become afraid to let him go? ;D

Air City was over hyped before it was presented, and it was very disappointing. The cast of actors and actresses was great but the plot was as exciting as staring at the floor. The entire series could be summed up like this--- Running here and there in an airport terminal; lame love story.
