I had to change my vote. After watching the show for awhile I have to say that Chulin is the tragic character. I do like the Princess but here lately she is showing her claws. Meow. Princess Sukyoung doesn't have much of a choice.....What woman would want her husband's ex-lover (and their son) to suddenly live so dangerously close and disrupt her family life? For years, Sukyoung had worked so hard to raise a family and assist her husband, DJY, in building up the Goguryeon community in Mt. Dongmo....And now, here comes Chulin and Geom threatening to unravel what she helped create.....The love story btw DJY and Chulin had its place in this epic, but tragic circumstances insured that it could not last.....And that's perfectly fine with me.....

I never cared for SUKYONG ,she always smilng struck me as like a feudal game show hostess . and when she declared she would only marry the bravest warrior in Koguryo i did not notice a slew of warriors racing to the battlefield to compete for her hand in fact the responce was pretty apathetic ..probaby did wonders for her ego .
I keep hoping she will show some character instead of being so damn agreeable with everything or being this late 7th early 8th century doormat .
Im curious as to what else the actress has done in so much this may be the limit of her acting range .

Uh, maybe because her character was written to reflect the person that she was....She didn't strike me as the person you have described.....

Sukyong was Hee-soo in (forgot the name of the show). She was a fierce orphan who made a hidden deal, for money, with a guy's stepmother, then fell in love with him after they married. She became a force in her husband's family. I didn't think she was that good an actress at the beginning, but part of it could have been her odd (and low) status and general insecure position, financial and otherwise.

The drama is called My Precious Child...A number of actors from DJY starred in it, as well......You'd recognize Xue Rengui, Yang Manchun, and Empress Wu Zetian in MPC......

She had a consistent care for people that simply grew as circumstances became more dire. She was never as flaky as Chulin. I always thought Sukyoung would be a muchbetter wife for Dae Jo Young than Chulin. She acted like a princess SHOULD in those situations. As for her flirting with Yeon Namseng, i think it was more to inspire him than anything. i think she saw him as a spoiled brat, but just played along, to get him off her back & nto the battlefield.

I take it back actually in fairness this girl has really been through it suffering in silence and she really has a noble bearing ,she has put up with a lot to finaly get to where she is.
Actually i have thought about it and completly reversed my opinion of her ....Sooo ill just go trash Bukiwon and Sa bugul instead .

I'm still waving back and forth between Chulin and Goem... Chulin is an obvious choice, but Goem is a pretty tragic figure as well. There are too many tragic people in this series.
