Wasn't one of those generals that we saw the former prisoner who was repeatedly trying to kill Dae Jo Young when he was a prisoner in that mountain death camp, Mt. Gaifu?

It sure looked that way to me. And I thought he was also the enemy commander that Li Kaigu was out fighting against before he hustled back to spoil everything for his tribe. At least Mapa's back…

I don't think it's the same guy, but I've been confused about it too so I'm not sure. The guy from Mt. Guifu was a Turkic leader and I think his name was Mokchul. After all of that Mt. Guifu/everybody-join-together stuff, he left DJY—told him that he was going to join his brother who was trying to unite the Turkic tribes or some such thing. Then right after that 12-year skip forward in time we see him again, at least I think it's him, but the name is now "Mochou" or something like that, and he's leading the Turkic army. The same guy who met with Li Kaigu on the battlefield a few episodes back and promised not to pursue him if he withdrew. And presumably now he's still with his army in the northwest.
I just assumed that it was the same guy and the different name spellings were slight variations in translating the same name, but I could be mixed up about it. You're both right, they should have made it more clear.

Zorro, BD---the actor who played the prisoner from the camp does play the barbarian commander that Li Kaigu was fighting, but the way I understand it, he's not the same character. . .just the same actor.

Or is it that you have an excellent vcr/dvd? ;D And I agree with Nalbal's idea that they may be using the same actor for different roles!
