Suddenly EVERYBODY is a comedian. In the beginning we had Heuk Sudol. Now we have the "Wolf" ( a well deserved nickname, when we watch how he eats and chases Mimosa's female servant/warrior) of Madu and Chulin's former bodyguards/fellow warriors.
I think that Heuk Sudol is genuinely funny. The Wolf is amusing because he is a simpleton but it's overplayed and the Kaitan traitors are just irritating.

Pabo, that's a good point. Maybe the show had staffing changes. Maybe that's why we are seeing a lot more comedy and heraing more voiceovers than we used to do.
BungalowD, I, too, find Heuk Sudol genuinely funny. Gaepil (and Tungso) is more like a buffoon or court jester to me.
I noticed about a month ago that Jitou is getting a lot of close-ups these days. In #88, he got about as many close-ups as the stars, plus his character is a general all of a sudden. Did he hit it big in Korea and get more close-ups? Does anyone know if he is one of the comedians on "Gag Concert" and "Sponge?" I find him amusing, too.
So, how long will it be before Gulsabiwu and Geumlan become husband and wife? Or will that take as long as it did for DJY and Lady Sukyeong?
Two last things: hurrah for the return of Mapa! Poor Namseng, he's been forgotten by one and all.

I'm glad that you brought up Namseng. My family was talking about him last night. I wonder if he's been permanently written out of the show. I thought that he was an interesting character and I wouldn't mind in the least if he returned. He could create some interesting twists. ;D

I mean, look - - DJY is always running into people in the middle of a vast forest. You'd think at least one of those would be Namseng! That's one busy forest!

Namseng should not be returning because he is already dead at this point of real history Xue Rengui dies even earlier than Namseng so I don't know why he's still alive in the drama. The Korean fans refer Xue Rengui as a zombie

Heuk Sudol, Gaepil, and Tungso. . .the three little pigs. . .sitting there stuffing themselves with riceballs. ;D Couldn't stop laughing when Sudol coughed the rice up in the Khitan's face when he was punched in the stomach! I agree with you, BD. . .Sudol seems to be the stronger comedian of the three. The Turks are just plain silly, and I do think they over-do it.

Truth, people in Chicago are used to seeing dead men walk. In Goguryeo, the dead continue to have adventures and battles. In Chicago, they just get up to vote.

Those that don't vote get city and county jobs - they are the ones that can't answer ANY question you ask or they just sit at their desk as the telephones ring and ring and ring and ring .... maybe they're deaf and dead?

They're classified as the "Living Dead". And let us not forget federal workers here--as my dh loves to say, "I'm from the government and I'm here to HELP you!"

Hey hey hey -- my wife works for Social Security regional office! Better watch out now, BD (and other anti-Government workers) Truth - you don't know why Xue Rengui is still there? It seems obvious -- he's a well written & well acted character that provides some good contrast to the Koreans. Do any of these "clowns" know English? i would love for them to get more exposure outisde of Korean Historical dramas.

Done it close to 20 years. Spent many years in the belly of the beast in DC. Believe me, most feds are the Walking DEAD! ;D

So, how long will it be before Gulsabiwu and Geumlan become husband and wife? Or will that take as long as it did for DJY and Lady Sukyeong? Earlier it seemed that Geumlan was married to or at least involved with Heuk Sudol. He was making moves on her, anyway. The second time he wanted kisses etc., she seemed more resistant than the first time, but she didn't look like she was really fighting him off, it was more like, Oh, I kind of have a headache....but...

That was Auhong (sp?), another female assistant to Mimosa. She was the "madam" of the House , if i remember correctly. She is indeed Heul Sudol's wife, even he STILL can't get a kiss from her (on screen, anyway-- hopefully we'll find out he has kids -- he'd be a great father!)
