! DJY vows loyalty to Tang!! I thought it would never happen. If his fellow prisioners hadn't rallied behind him, it would have been all over, though I am happy that he is still alive! How ironic that Xue Rengui made DJY take the oath after his previous comments about 'worthless honor' when DJY was recovering from the poison. This was a really cool scene. I like the scene of the Empress walking through a garden with her followers, and all the servents having to drop what they were doing to bow to her. I like you get a glimpse of how immense the palace must have been, with a large number of servants to maintain it. Very brave & very foolish of Sukyoung to ask to serve King Bojang!! that was another Makes you wonder if Empress Wu's final comment (the only way out of the palace is when you die) was a hint to the head servant. Say one thing out of line and it's 'off with her head'! The reunion of DJY and Sukyoung was quirky (can't think of a better word), but I love the way the scene played out. They could have done the immediately-fall-into-each- other's-arms scene; but ha! didn't happen. They fell into their old roles of general and princess, but this time he's in a Tang uniform. I wonder if DJY held back because he thought Sukyoung might distain him for betraying King Bojang by taking the oath for Tang. (If she was like Empress Wu that would have happened!) Finally Sukyoung takes the lead and leaps next to him. Hope he doesn't have any more doubts about her feelings towards him. This espisode was packed full of events. Chulin flipping through the air! Those little 'darts' she practiced with back in Andong Protectorate came in handy. Li Kaigu's plan of cooking up evidence against the ministers! Who would think he'd be so guileful?! The look he gave DJY while giving loyalty to Empress Wu!!! No way LK believes it!

EPISODE# 79 & 80 I agree jojo, a lot of things happened in the last two episodes. I feel so sorry for King Bojang, he doesn't look like he is going to be around much longer. I wonder what is wrong with him. I don't think they actually said anything except that he was very ill. It was nice to see the reunion between DJY and Princess Sukyoung. Djy seems to be very naive. He acted so shocked when the Princess hugged him. It was sad that they couldn't have had a nicer wedding, but at least it made King Bojang very happy to know his niece would be taken care of ,protected, and loved. I had a feeling DJY would pledge loyalty to Tang in word only. He really didn't have much of a choice if he wanted to stay alive. I figured he and his men would still work on a plan behind the scenes. As for Li Kaigu, I would have been shocked if he didn't sneer and look at DJY with hate in his eyes. You can be sure he and Shin Hong will be watching DJY and his men like hawks to catch them.

Yes, Dae Jo Young's naivete made me smile. Maybe he thought all of their moments in his recovery room were just from the anxiety of their situation. Nope!!!! I thought they'd end up married, but the timing was a complete surprise for me. But who better to be married by than King Bojang. Doesn't sound like he will be around too much longer with his mysterious illness. How about his auspicious words, giving DJY permission to build a new kingdom on Goguryeo soil?! I wonder if Mokchul is somehow related to the Wolf of Madu, since they're both from Turkish tribes. I'm sure we'll be seeing Mokchul again. (I almost didn't recognize him all cleaned up!!) What's with Shin Hong accusing Chorin of getting Sukyoung out of the palace? Looks like Chorin gave herself away (or nearly) by saying that no one would notice missing servants. She looked po'd!! Now she has to worry about him on her back. Ugh. He gives me the creeps! OK: Li Wen. I don't even want to go there. He's a "blasted bastard" for shure.

EPISODE# 79 & 80 Definitely, Li Wen AND Shin Hong are both "blasted B*****ds"!!! Well we know DJY won't succumb to Li Wen's plan to kill him. He can't die yet, but I hope none of his "brothers" get taken out. I don't think Shin Hong will "squeal " on Chulin, but I wouldn't trust him not to use it to blackmail her or threaten to use it against her. He's a real slime ball. I don't know if he is related to the "Wolfman" or not. I guess we'll find out later on. You're right , he looked a lot better , not as wild looking. Everything King Bojang said was very touching. It was as if he knew he didn't have much time left and he was exerting his authority for the last time. He seemed to be giving permission and commanding DJY to build a new Goguryeo. I think he felt if he couldn't live to see it, he at least wanted to die in peace knowing it would happen. I hope I'm wrong about the King dying but it doesn't look good.

It would be hughly disappointing if either Gulsabiwu or Sudol were gone from the series, so I hope they make through the 'punitive' operation on Mt. Madu. I loved the scene, many episodes ago, when Sudol was trying to make time with Auhong, the lady from Tsui Sing Lau, and to get Biwu to leave the room. "Can't you see I'm working here." (love the translation) ;D Just had a horrible thought that Shin Hong may go after Sukyoung. And if he found out she was married to DJY, that would be even worse. He's kept his anger over his brother's death bottled up for a long while; his desire for revenge may get the best of him. I hope he doesn't find out where she is hiding. Loved King Bojang's dialogue. Touching and wise, realizing that nations come & go, but the mountains and people will still be there. He seems to have found an inner peace, like he's been preparing to leave this world. The other shocker in this episode: DJY seeing his son and not knowing it!! Yet he was especially kind to Geom, almost like he sensed a connection.

Yeah, I hope they are around for a long time, but we have no guarantee other than DJY. So hopefully they will be around until the end. HS is quite the character.
Shin Hong is always after someone, why doesn't he just get a life!
Either DJY felt a connection with his son or we were just seeing his affection for Geom because he knows Geom is Chulin's child and DJY has feelings for her and fond memories of them being in love.

I'd say a bit of both. Certainly DJY is feeling kindly toward Chulin right now, because she saved Sukkyung and she gave him the knife to save himself.

You're right mugwump. DJY mentioned those two things to Chulin that he felt grateful for. She then mentioned something about having paid her debt to him.

Duh! I forgot about that!! That's a more pausible explanation for DJY's extra kindness towards Geom. Thanks for the reminder mugwump!

Sudal and Auhong again! Loved that little scene with them. Poor Sukyoung going off on her own again. I hope she decides to start some sword training, so she and Auhong are not completely vunerable. Wise words about DJY not belonging to only her. I was certain that the Wolf of Madu wouldn't be caught in the same trick again by DJY, but he did! He doesn't seem to be the smartest of leaders, though he doesn't have any lack in confidence. I liked the idea of using animal tracks to get into the mountain; very sneaky! Looks like Empress Wu is headed for trouble again, and the Khitans will be going down with her.

EPISODE# 79 & 80 I just love Mimosa !!! ;D ;D ;DOnly he could ruffle Shin Hong's feathers..... "Your thorny words are digging into my gut". I cheered when I saw SH becoming agitated at Mimosa's calm, cool, and collected attitude as he spoke very sarcastic, choice words. I just loved that scene. It's nice to see someone get the best of Shin Hong. Shortening his existence would be better, but hopefully that will come about sooner than later. The scene with Heuk Sudol and Auhong was funny. HS isn't going to give up until he gets the girl IMO.

In a previous post we were wondering what illness the Emperor had. I found out he suffered from a crippling stroke. After that he just went down hill and probably had more than one stroke. I'm sure living with the Empress will do that to you.
On the question of Xue Rengui's origin, he was a Tang Dynasty artisan of the Georan tribe before he became a warrior. Li Kaigu was raised by the chief of the Georan tribe. Chulin was the daughter of the chief ( Khan).
