Bu (Kiwon) + (Sa Bu)Gu=poo! ;D
These two are so bad they're good. Whenever they are up to their old tricks you know that the plot will take an interesting turn. When Xui put Bu Kiwon in his place by telling him that they were never friends--you could see by Bu's face that he was totally incredulous! This guy's ego couldn't accept what everyone else could see. But stubborn to the end, he tells GU that NAMSENG is responsible for everything!

LOL, BungalowDweller! But now Namseng accused them of leaking information, and I think even Mr. FeatherDuster is beginning to wonder. Remember how back in Gorguryeo Bu Kiwon preached how he alone would save the country, and how he was the true patriot? Well, now he has to eat his words: the fact that he would say that he was "the true patriot" has come back to haunt him...he's under suspicion from the Tang side!

Sa = Teacher Bu = Father Gu = Enemy In another words, the name Sa Bu Gu means 'the enemy of the teacher(Yang Manchun. according to Sa Bu Gu, he has always thought of him as his role model.) and father(Goguryeo)'

Thanks, Truth! Knowing about the character's name adds so much interest! Even though the guy is unreal, he's someone we just love to hate! ;D

I don't know if you notice but the actor who plays Sa Bu Gu also played Yeom Moon's main henchman in Emperor of the Sea. I dislike this character more in this show. At least in Hae Shin, he had some kind of sense of "pirate" honor, not like the weasel he is here ... SPOILER ............ SPOILER ............ spoiler moved to this message END SPOILER ... highlight the above to read easier.

If you have "Histories of the Three Kingdoms"(Samguk sagi), you could find his name in the passage of the 26th year (667) of King Bojang.

PLEASE, No spoilers anywhere but on the Spoiler thread! i agree wth Bugalow Dweller, and have cut & pasted it and created a link. i understand what chocpie was trying to do, but unfortunately that doesn't work very well here. trekbbs.com has a great set up for that -- wish we had one here. If someone knows proboards maybe they can look up that info. Sorry to make the extra work, but not everyone is on the same page when it comes to watching this show!

Thanks, Truth! Knowing about the character's name adds so much interest! Even though the guy is unreal, he's someone we just love to hate! ;D Exactly; half of the fun of watching a historical drama like this is having some unbelievable villains like "Pew" Kiwon and "Gu" to just loath and despise in every episode, lol. ;D Think about it...if there weren't any bad guys in the show, well, there wouldn't be a show! DJY and all the others would just be a bunch of happy-go-lucky guys running around Gorguryeo in uniform, smiling and waving at "the people" as they ride their horses through the villages, and occasionally hanging out at a bar and playing cards with each other. Not my idea of a show.

Can you believe these two? Only this dasterdly duo would think of dressing up Goguryeon people in Tang uniforms and using them as Human Shields! And did anybody catch how absolutely excited and enthusiastic Sa Bugu was about the idea? Sicko! He needs to be boiled in oil.

Or have his head cut off and put in that box wrapped with the blue silk, like DJY should have done with "Pew" Kiwon's head a long time ago. But seriously---the way these guys talk about their own countrymen, no...their ex countrymen, makes me sick. How could anyone be so immoral and utterly despicable? Thank heavens they are fictional characters.

One thing that i can't stand about them is how there were saying that they would do anything for gogureyo. They only care for the people and whats best for them but know they are with tang and doing whatever they can to wipe out the new gogureyo. They kept on talking about how bad namseng was and look what there doing. If they want people to like them then they would open the gates and let dae joyoung and his soldiers easily come and destroy all of the tang and khitans that are in pyonyang fort

There was a real person named Sa Bu Gu, but the Sa Bu Gu in this drama is a totally different person and the real Sa Bu Gu did not make appearance in this drama.
