I can't figure out if Kyle is good or evil. He seems to be like a double agent, but what is it he is really after. I hope he is not evil because he is sooooo cute. Cute people should never be bad.

LOL, gpaul. Kyle seems to be a good guy getting his revenge. But, often times, the good guys turn evil when they take matters into their own hands. He still blames HS for his father's death, which is a bit understable. I just wish he comes to terms with the events that have plagued him because when it comes down to it, he'll only end up hurting himself.

Hey. I just thought of something. (Well, actually I thought of it last night but I suppressed the urge to get up and turn on the computer, LOL.)
Isn't Kyle Japanese? Wasn't that rival hotelier, who HS kind of helped kill, a Japanese guy? Did anyone understand that situation? Because the old man was certainly living Japanese old-style (food tasters, indeed!) and I thought they said the hotel they "took over" was Japanese.
So, if Kyle is a hero--a Japanese hero--isn't that an unusual situation in a Korean soap?

Wow, it's like we're watching a different show...where'd you get the whole food taster thing? I missed that, was that in the first couple of episodes or something?

Yeah, ORD, when HS goes to meet the old man (I guess I don't have to remember his name, I'll call him (most disrespectfully I'm sure) the Old Man), he had a dinner served with Japanese Geisha-types serving, and one women tasted all of the Old Man's food before he would eat it. This was in Vegas. When he saw the surprised look on HS's face, he explained that the hotel business IS A JUNGLE (lol)! You never know who might have it in for you! I just was so struck that here they were in 20th Century USA, using a woman like a disposable tissue. HS had some trouble eating after that, and after the meal, HS went into the men's room and brought it up, if you get my meaning. Then the old guy committed suicide after all that! Why didn't he just leave the poor girl alone!
Excuse my ranting. You know, it's just my way...

No, no! You're right. Why go through the trouble of having a food taster checking for poison and risking their life if he was going to kill himself anyways?

ok ok i can't read anymore rants about KYLE he is a good guy. He was the secret son of the Japanese man and kyle's mother was korean thats how he knows korean. KYLE is the MAIN stock holder in the Niko hotel in Vegas and he doesn't feel like he can trust HS because he knows what HS does to hotels. And like his father always said "hotels are living, breathing things and they become like thier owners" HS asked kyle why does he always act like his taking something from him and kyle responded " i don't have anything you want yet!!" Which means two things the first the love triangle they have going on kyle likes youngin, youngin likes HS(ignoring kyle request for him to love her) and HS like youngin and after hearing the request (HS didn't know who made the request) told youngin he loves her. Second the hotel which he owns mostly he can stop HS from becoming president. So KYLE is not evil just a little mixed up right now!!! That was long i hope this helps anyone who isn't on kyle's side learn that his not evil!!!

Thanks Sunshinek, I appreciate your explanation about Kyle. I really like his character but did not truly understand him possibly because I missed several episodes.

That was long i hope this helps anyone who isn't on kyle's side learn that his not evil!!! Geez, sunshinek, I don't think anyone was actually ranting against Kyle, here. Just wondering what he's up to. And I hope your explanation did not contain any actual spoilers, which unfortunately I would not know since my reception has been so bad I've only caught every other word or so. Since no one "squawked" at you, I'll assume you didn't. However, you do not address my observation, that it is unusual in a Korean drama to have a Japanese hero. (Hero = bad guy? I don't think so.) Don't you think? Even if he's only half Japanese. Personally, I think he cuts a dashing and exciting figure. Almost like James Bond. I shouted, "Yee-AH!" at the TV when he left his business card pasted on the window for the "bad guys" to find, and then when he pulled the tape off the door in that sneering manner. Wow. What a cool customer. Bo

Yes in most korean drama japanese are the hero but i really like Kyle because he is very respectful in everything so far..... like he is willing to wait for youngin until the end and his wants to keep his fathers memory of running a great hotel alive. Plus i think his cute now that you mention it in a james bond type of way he knows everything that goes on in the hotel and what youngin is thinking
I really love this love triangle they have going makes me wish i was youngin in the middle of rough-edge HS and smooth and honorable Kyle......
I really can't wait to see what kyle will do?

I believe it was in one of last week's episodes that Hunseyo advised Kyle to not give up on loving Youngin. I thought that was kind of an eerie thing for him to say, considering they have both been competing for her love all along.

I think he said that because he knows he's going to die soon and this way Youngin will be taken care of when he's gone.

does anyone think that kyle was only after youngin because he wants to beat HS at everything? or does he really like her?

I think that he really does love her. Hopefully, after Yhunseo dies, she will be able to turn to Kyle for consolation, that may eventually turn to love. In last night's episode, she told Kyle that he and Y were the same except for a bad heart. Maybe that meant that she could like him since he's so similar to Hyunseo. I don't know if it's going to be part of the story, because I really don't know the ending, other that H will die, but, I would like to see Kyle and Youngin turn to each other in their loss, and go to Vegas together.
But then, I'm not the writer, so we'll just have to see.
