i live in seoul. and watched the show last year. i like history and the gentlemanship and consciensness, so i liked the show. and UNHYUK has handsome face and good strong body of northern mongolian. most koreans think he is the model type of korean race. when i see the UNHYUK's face my mind becomes soothe.(even though i am a man) most koreans dont like modern north korea.but when 1945, many intelleligent were the communists. when 1945, in fact there re no right of not wrong. except the cruel park chang-ju.
becuz koreans re one people.

My mother isn't a K-drama fan, but when she recorded the last two episodes of "Seoul 1945" for me (since I missed them) she went on and on about that "good looking communist guy" in the drama. ;D Even I'll admit that "Oon-hyuk" is a handsome devil.

Yup. Good strong body and all. If he's the model type of the Korean race, I say long live the Koreans. I say that anyway, by the way.

Oon-hyuk is very good looking, but so is Dong-woo. I do have a question about the North Korean occupation of Seoul. Does anyone know how long it lasted and how many people were tried and killed in their people's court?

The actors/actresses in Seoul 1945 are just so gifted. I love the mothers and their love for their childlren... and clinging on to the principle of doing what is right and treating everyone with kindness. Their roles are played with such feeling ... it's hard to imagine that they are acting. And the lead male roles are getting more attractive by the moment. With such precision, Oon-hyuk served as prosecutor ... and was able to save Yi's life ... and then his argument that his family started working in the minds almost after they learned to walk... and his father... etc. Such conflicting thoughts for the greater good. I just love this drama. It's really my favorite of all those I'm watching. Anyway, to coin your phrase, Long Live the Koreans!

It's my favorite too, but it's getting sadder and sadder by the episode.
Yunkyung, a defenseless nurse, is shot down at point blank range by none other than Park Chang Ju, who couldn't have possibly mistaken her for a soldier. I've tried to give this guy even the slightest measure of understanding, but he's pure evil to me.
And poor Hyang-geum. She's lost all her daughters save Hye Kyung, who was only seconds away from execution herself. I don't know how she hasn't died or gone insane from grief. It's so sad to think this probably did really happen to so many innocent people in real life.
At least Eun-hee was able to finally get married, but she and her husband are both in harms way as well. What a nightmare.
12 episodes to go. I hope it doesn't get any worse than it has already, but this drama is pulling no punches.

As they say, 'War is hell' and you're right zorro, the terror, evil. sadness and devistation ... this can't be a happily ever after' ending. I can only hope that Park Chang Ju doesn't die an instant death and that he has time to review his deceptive life driven by revenge. He was a miserable kid and grew into a deplorable adult. For those who survive, I do hope relationships can be nurtured. I just love the moms. The writers have done such a good job in depicting their maternal love, devotion and heartbreak. The actresses play their roles so convincingly ... which is code for 'they make me cry.'

I do agree with both of you that this is too sad, and it is based on what really happened to people during wartime. I cried so much last night that I had to have a kleenex box next to me. I think I will keep it there until the show is over in 6 weeks. What is the saddest part is that families will be separated, possibly never to see each other again. I do hope that Chang Ju dies an evil death at the end. What a great actor he is, he is so convincing as the bad guy, when in other shows he was cute and funny.
