Thanks, Mikey, I didn't know that. Did I miss it or will it come up later, about how his mother abandoned him? From his memories of her that we've seen so far, she seems to love him, not look down on him. Was he of normal intelligence as a little boy, I wonder? As a child, he did child-like things with his mother, so their relationship looked fine to me. I read somewhere that she left him because he was slow or something, but ??

. . . but as I recall, yes, Day was in fact abandoned at a bus stop by his mother when he was a child. That's right ... but those who have seen thru the serie knows it's not true

I read somewhere that she left him because he was slow or something, but ?? We're on episode 7 in Washington, DC. Someone whom I think is Day's mother comes into the picture... Day's mother died(Car accident) when he was young(7-8yrs old?). He never was abandon. Day's mother crossed the street to buy day a paper windmill (yellow one) and when she was about return she was hit by a truck or car ..I don't remember which. Day just sat there and ate his strawberry icecream 20 feet from the accident.

Ouch! That hurts, but since his mind is still that of a child, he probably interpreted her leaving as abandonment. Poor Day. Thanks mikey and cy, for clearing things up for me.

I have a question for Mikey or anyone that has seen this drama before. Is that odd woman who is now living with the principal, his granddaughter, and those two other guys Dr Park's mother? It seemed that right after she took the picture of a young boy out of her bag they cut over to a shot of Dr Park and we already know that according to him he"has no mother" (so obviously there is more to that story ). Just curious, if anyone knows. Thanks.

If that woman is the mother of Dr. Park, why did she ask where Day was? And Kang Han-su? I was thinking that she's Day's mother. She had a picture of a little boy who looked like Day, imo, but it could have been Dr. Park as a child, I guess.

Mickey, those 2 guys works at the hospital, where Dr Park works too. Mrs Ko is really Dr Park's mother. She kept this picture when he was a little boy, and go everywhere he go..... Day's mother is died when he was a child, after she went to buy a yellow pinwheel and wanted to cross the road....

Thanks for the info, sushimi. And ginnycat, if you read a post a bit further up right here in this thread you'll see that Day's mom got hit by a car and died right in front of poor Day, who was eating ice cream and oblivious to his surroundings. We don't yet know why Dr Park's mom isn't in his life but at least we know that she's alive. I'm sure a reunion is in the future. I can only imagine how she will react when she finds out her son is a famous surgeon. *pictures her with dollar signs in her eyes*

I saw that but I chose not to believe it. I'd rather keep open all possibilities. It's fun tracking plotlines, even multiple (alternate) plotlines. So, why would Dr. Park's mother ask about the whereabouts of Day and his father? Is there another connection between Day and Dr. Park, a really early connection?

Ginny, if you chose not to believe it, you're posting in wrong thread. This is about spoiler. Not "What if" or guessing what will happen.

Ginnycat5, please, give me the number of the ep.... and after I'll answer to you.... I'm not sure, but it was maybe the 4th ep.? When the woman showed up at night at the principal's house, she demanded to know where was Kang Han-su? Where was Day? If she's Park's mother, what would she know about Day? Even if Han-su cheated her, would he discuss his son? What was she going to do with Day, kidnap him for ransom? (That is, if she isn't his mother. There could have been years of amnesia, in a drama that isn't so rare.)

Yes it was the fourth episode. I think it's safe to assume that Day's mother will not be resurrected from the dead with just amnesia in this drama, ginny. However, I'm not really sure why she would ask for Day as well, unless she too knows that Day has (she's probably not up to speed with his recovery, should I call it?) a mental illness that she could play on to get the truth of Kang's whereabouts. But, if the writer did choose to incorporate another storyline about the generation before (the parents) I wouldn't be surprised. Sorry, ginny, my answer probably doesn't help clear things up for you either. It's all just speculation really. I don't think other regions of the US are done with the show either (i could be wrong) so we won't know till one of them is done viewing it.
