This was pretty blatant; Jae-min calls In-young, and all of a sudden, Mi-jung and In-chul are buying peppers. In the meantime: Jae-min runs to see In-young. She tells him that Hee-joo knows she is carrying Ki-joon's baby. Jae-min meets Ki-joon at the same restaurant where Hee-joo met In-young, and they talk about In-young. Jae-min meets Ki-chan at the bar, and they talk a while. Ki-joon returns home lifelessly. The next morning, Ki-joon calls Hee-joo. Hee-joo is asleep, and her mother answers Hee-joo's cell phone. Ki-joon thus knows she is at her parents house. Later, a brief scene where Ki-joon calls In-young before coming over was also cut out. The scenes with Jae-min and In-young and then Kijoon looked very important, but all I could understand was "Hee-joo", "In-young", and "sarang." This editing butchery is rendering much of the plot almost incomprehensible at times.

Thank you, Soju! It's getting so I don't even notice some scenes are missing. It really is butchery. Sounds like about half the episode got cut. It's insanity! P.S. I think I am blinded by all the v-neck T-shirt scenes of Jae-min lately and that's why I'm too googly to notice the crude editing.

It appears we're (Philadelphia) a bit more ahead of the series than you (which, by the way, we don't have any commericals). If you're at the episode I'm thinking, Kijoon and Heejo just had a big fight and she left him for the night. Jae-min and his friend Ki-chan* don't really discuss much other than Ki-chan knows something is not right with his friend, but Jae-min won't discuss it with him. The scenes with Inyoung and Jae-min are where Jae-min asks her if she would still marry him even if Kijoon divorces, and she tells him yes.
*I feel bad for this actor. This series isn't much of a resume builder for him!

Teresa, you're right about Ki-chan. *sigh* such is the fate of the K-drama supporting actor! They are mostly used as handy devices to keep the plot moving along. I remember the scene in the car with JM and IY differently--after he asked her whether she would still marry him if KJ got a divorce, at first she answered that that wouldn't happen, and then after JM said something else, she just looked worried. I remember thinking that she was leaving the door open, even at this late date. Later on it seemed clearer that she was going ahead with the marriage regardless. In-young's behavior is so inscrutable, if I may use that word. She hardly says anything, so you can't really predict what she's thinking (does she still love Ki-joon? would she go back to him?), and then she comes out with something that makes you think she's had her mind made up all along.

Thanks for setting me straight, Lucy (the episodes are beginning to blend!). Inscrutable is the perfect word. I'm just feeling a bit badly for Jae-min, if he and Himchan end up heartbroken, I think I will be too. I mean, he hardly gets even a smile from Inyoung. Let's see, he's a kind and generous man, a fountain of patience, owns a business and treats his employees well, a loving father and what else, what am I forgetting... oh yeah!! INCREDIBLY GOOD LOOKING!

I was looking at him in last night's episode, in which he and In-young had a sort of date and were walking through the park, and I was thinking that the actor had buffed up somewhat since the last series we saw him in, "One Million Roses." He was adorable and handsome there, too, but he didn't have that "sexiness" that he does now. Or maybe it's that in the other show he always wore business suits and in this one we see a little more flesh. Specifically, his neck and his legs below the knee, LOL. I guess that's "racy beefcake" for these dramas. But it's always been his black, black eyes and pleasantly rounded cheeks (er, his face, I mean) that have done it for me. He has very nice skin, too.

One time I thought In-young gave a clue about her feelings, when she told Ki-joon that she would rather make herself miserable than make others to be miserable. I took that to mean that she would be miserable without Ki-joon, but wouldn't go back to him because that would cause JM and Him-chan to be hurt. Otherwise she just drags around inscrutably. (Good word, Lucy.) Hope she isn't affecting her baby with bad stress hormones, and lack of nutrition.

Thanks, Ginnycat. The reason I hesitated to use that word is because it used to be a cliche, maybe even derogatory: "The inscrutable Oriental." I don't know what people meant by that, but it probably wasn't good. Maybe it was just offensive because it was shorthand for some preconception the Westerners had; like, "they don't have round, open eyes like us, so who knows what they're thinking and plotting?" or, "Oh, 'the Orient' is so mysterious, and so are all of its people."
Yeah, she sure needs to take some vitamins and perk up a little! Quit draggin' that purse on the ground, girl!
