It's a point of view about fertility treatments which are so demanding on a couple trying to have a child. In my opinion, it's a very personal thing between a married couple. In the case of In-young and Ki-joon, the very controlling, demanding Ok-jin was the main reason for their divorce. She interfered in their lives so much that she made it impossible for them to make their own decisions. Ki-joon should have taken his wife far away from his mother's house. If In-young were in control of her body, she might have become pregnant when she and Ki-joon decided it was time to have a child.

Evil MIL kept on blaming IY for not getting pregnant, that it was all her fault. But nothing is mentioned whether KJ's sperm count is high. Maybe the problem stems with him and not IY, but they only do treatments with her.
Or did they test him, and he was okay???
In any case, IY in my opinion has suffered much.

When they do in-vitro, that means there are embryos to implant, but In-young can't retain them, it seems. Guess everyone forgot the "no stress" rule from the early treatment. Don't know how In-young became anemic with all the attention paid by labs and the doctor. There should have been a hiatus in treatment so she could begin a pregnancy as strong as possible.

I gave this stuff a lot of thought. I think to a degree it must be a cultural difference. There's an awful lot of fertility treatment going on there for such a seemingly young couple. Is In-young 30? (I'm assuming that since I think Sun-mi mentioned her own age as 30.) In the US In-young wouldn't have even seen a fertility doctor without 12 months of trting the ''old fashioned way,'' miscarriage or no...

I think the cultural difference is in the way In-young obeyed the wishes of her controlling, selfish, obsessed mother-in-law. Also the fact that they lived with the b**** and never got any time off or distance from her. I don't know if it's usual for a 30-year old to have such extensive treatment there.

I don't think it's a "cultural difference" that has a young, reasonably healthy woman with nothing wrong with her go in for constant fertility treatments. I think it's a "dramatic license." And a pretty ridiculous one, at that.

Yeah! How much you want to bet once the pressure of SM is off, IY gets preggers right away! Him-chan needs a little sister... If only evil SM realized that she was the stress factor, IY would most definitely have gotten preggie. But since the MIL is clueless, well she's that and now grandmotherless? Too bad, too sad!!!!!!! Boy that sounded so harsh!!!! Sorry, just my opinion!
