When Sun-mi's mother found her daughter and Inchul in the same room asleep, I assume she thought that they were being intimate. Maybe it's Korean tradition that dating and intimacy assures that a couple will get married.
After Inchul's Aunt talked with Sun-mi, I think Sun-mi is beginning to realize that she was just having "fun" with In-chul who had intentions of marrying her. I think she's beginning to "wake- up" that other people have feelings as well. Sun-mi, I think, really has some feelings for the younger In-chul, but realizes that he doesn't come up to her, or her mother's, expectations of marriage material.
Mi-jung is the one who is working to get somewhere in life, who could be a match for In-chul. I think it's time for him to "wake-up". Marriage means a lot of effort and responsibility, plus a good job to support a family. In-chul still sees himself as a 20 year old with no direction.

she was just way out of line. I mean, they were not on the same bed when she found them, so how can she go about thinking that they have that kind of a relationship? Then she storms off to IC's house demanding that he take responsibility for something he hasn't done. I will be really upset if SM actually gets with that Duomo guy. He's weird.... And if she marries him, what a hypocrite!

Maybe Sun mi's been so busy starting and running her business, and all the stresses of pleasing customers and meeting a payroll that she doesn't want any other responsibilities. Especially since she grew up in the country, where there probably weren't any career women, and saw how much work a wife has to do. Why rush into THAT? Especially since she would be subordinate to a MIL, probably. yoicks.

We saw this pop up in One Million Roses. When Yu-jin's mom wouldn't approve of Min-jae, she deliberately ran over to his apartment, got undressed, and jumped in his bed because she knew her mom would come looking for her there. Poor Min-jae didn't even know what hit him, and nothing even happened. I can only assume Korean girls are supposed to be virgins when they get married, and any suspicion of intimacy secures a wedding... ASAP! If the girl really has been intimate she's no longer considered a 'good catch' or something... In fact I think YJ's mom said something like, "well, you can't marry anyone else now..."

The same happened when Tae-young thought he slept with Mi-ryung in Yellow Handkerchief. He told her parents that he would "Take responsibility" for her.

I wonder if that is just an Asian thing? I remember seeing a movie where a Japanese girl slept with an American boy and right after that she was talking about marriage. But the American was thrown back and he told her he had no intention of marrying her. Suffice to say she was heartbroken and sad and didn't want to see the boy again. So with these dramas, I'm seeing the same thing. That it must be understood, if they're intimate; it will more than likely be they would get married. Hopefully sooner than later?
