It's very early in the drama, but In-young's father seems to be the sanest, most rational person so far. As a teacher, he has the calm, collected, reasoning presence of someone who truly looks at a situation for what it is without becoming emotionally involved for personal reasons. He kind of reminds me of Hee-soo's Dad, in MPC, who tried to cope with his wife's often angry, emotional outbursts.
Ki-joon and In-young are doing the right thing, though Ki-joon is torn between honoring his mother's controlling issues. They are very young being torn apart by what should be.
When In-young's father met with her and Ki-joon in a restaurant, he gave them his blessings. Later, in his wisdom, he sees his daughter being swept up in foolish scenario. Ki-joon is the son of his deceased wife's friend who just happens to be a very evil woman. He sees that Ki-joon was supposed to be engaged to Hee-joo, but sees the problems that his daughter, In-young, will face if she becomes part of that family.
