han-kye from OMR. I cannot remeber his name on this show. but i think the mother and that girl friend of his are quite controlling. I think that mother is also quite funny. that maid of hers is also a big mouth always pushing her way into things.

Ki-joon's mother, OK-jin, is played by Park Won-sook, who played the mean MIL in 'To Be With You'. She looks to be as class-conscious and even more strident in this show.
On the SoCal board, Ok-jin is known as "screech mother", and Na Hee-joo is "pushy girl". Good call, I think ;D

Good call on both, for sure!Screech mother - it hurts! ;D She is an attractive woman who plays these bizare characters. Could someone really be that way? It is more like a caricature surrounded by other smaller, quieter ones! I think her character also is a social-climber but not one with innate style. "Things" seem to make it for her. Pushy Girl? I like that one - she really is. But she also strikes me as so insecure that her "good looks" (I personally don't think she is attractive) and family money are supposed to get her what she wants. She has to latch onto things and declare herself the owner - like with Ki-Joon = saying he gained or lost points, or he has to do this or that, like propose to her or, and this got to me - she's going to take away his freedom! Perhaps I miss something in translation but she seems more pathetic.

And what's up with these women's excessive use of fur? Green fur? Did she kill Oscar the Grouch and then have him dry cleaned?
Pushy Girl is not pretty at all. I especially don't like her haircut, it makes her nose look really big (well, at least to me.)

Pushy Girl--can't stand her! And, just to be catty I'll tell you that for a moment there last night, I didn't recognize her at first and said to myself, "Who is that middle-aged woman? We haven't seen her before." Then she moved her head a little and looked young again.
Screech Mom is like nails on a chalkboard. I can't stand loud people. And I think her hook is that she is nouveau riche and tasteless. She reminds me of Eric's atrocious stepmom in "Phoenix." I love her housekeeper/ajumma-of-all-trades. She is playing a classic, old-fashioned supporting role, that of the maid who lives to ridicule her boss but gets away with it. Their relationship reminds me a little of Rosario and Karen's on "Will and Grace," if any of you have seen that show. They are hostile to each other but that's what holds them together.

LOL...i was just thinking about karen and rosario when i saw the screeching mom and her maid. why is the mom so...tacky. she seems to wear every peice of jewelry that she owns. and all that makeup pushy girl is kind of annoying but i feel sorry for her. its like she just dosent want to admit that her boyfriend dosent like her anymore. she needs to read that book "he's just not that in to you"

Oh, hah! I thought Ms Cho (Screechy Mom, right?) was see-oooooooo familiar, but I could not place her--thanks, Soju. About her voice--I was watching the initial episode this morning and Bob was in the bedroom, working on the computer, when she yelled at the girl who ran into her on the street. In about 4 seconds, Bob came stalking out of the bedroom and just stood glowering at the screen until she left. Then he stalked away again. (Just like a cat! Hah, hah, haaaa....) I can see I'm going to have to mute every time she's on, or I'll have a rebellion on my hands...

Ki-jun's mom is so annoying. She's even worse than Hee-soo's mom from MPC ;D! As for Hee-joo, she's also another annoying one. She really wants to marry Ki-jun when he's clearly not ready to commit to her. All this forceful stuff on him is just going to make him want to hate her. I laughed when Ki-jun suggested to Hee-joo that she, her mom, and his mom should just have an engagement party among themselves, "Why don't the three of you have the engagement party yourselves?" Hee-joo's mom is okay, I guess. Her face is really strict. But I would rather listen to her voice than Ki-jun's mother's...actually anything would be better than having to sit thru Ki-jun's mom's wailing.

I wonder what Ki-joon's father was like. He must have had or made a lot of money, because evidently his wife (Ok-jin) didn't. I kind of snickered at the way Mrs. Kim (Hee-joo's mother) put her down.
