go to hanbooks.com. just do a search on yi soon shin - you can find his memorials to court as well

and to confirm velvet inkbrush's suggestion, I did exactly what he said ... and received my copy of the YSS War Diaries from Hanbooks within a week.

You don't really want to get his war diaries. He mostly talks about playing baduk, drinking alot of soju and shooting arrows at targets every day. Overall, very boring. You want to get his memorials to court, or the "Imjin Changch'o" also available at Han Books.

Also most of his diaries from 1592 are missing, so it's a bit of a disappointment.

Thanks wangkon - I'm about 100 pages into War Diaries and was feeling guilty because I wasn't getting a sense of 'war'it as much as I thought I would. Having read your comments ... and your recommendation to get Memorials to Court, I just ordered it. In defense of his War Diary, however, I did get a sense of YSS in a more personal way. So much RAIN.... and his sickness, and reference to mother and his sons .... much the way we would 'journal' regarding day-to-day stuff... whereas if I were to keep a log of my actual workplace it would be the opposite... not so personal. ... the phrase WAR DIARIES is indeed misleading, but still has merit ... funny though, in my minds eye I keep picturing OUR YSS, not the real 16th Century YSS

Now that I've read more of the Nanjung Ilgi I have to agree with kathleen34. At one point YSS stops referring to Won Kyun as "Commander Won" and starts calling him simply "the wicked man." Let it suffice to say that he had good reason to be bitter.
