Does anybody here know how to do to a top-knot or how long your hair has to be? Im thinking of reviving the style.

I was watching the behind-the-scenes for the film The Legend of Suriyothai which is set in 16th century Thailand, and the actress was describing how they did the top-knot-like style for her hair. Basically, she said, it's like a pony-tail that's gathered at the top of your scalp instead of the base or nape of the neck. It's styled using wax (like what they used for mustaches) to make it sleek and stiff, and the end of your hair curls to meet the base (forming the knob or knot) and is secured down by pins and enveloped in an circle-ornament (a scrunchie, for lack of a better word). I dunno about hair length, though. Hers went to her lower back, but I would assume if you had shorter hair it would just mean a smaller knot. Good luck reviving that look! ~ Heather www.isotype-newtype.com
