Thank you so much sonakbi275! I don't know how you managed this posting... but it's just wonderful. .... I'm a Polish American and am a major fan of IYSS Watching this series has prompted many of us to order books about this time period. Again, yours is a wonderful post that will be enjoyed by many.

Hm... funny how it says 'Dogong' for Yi Jangpyeong and So Eunwoo. I know that a potter is 'Sagijang' in Korean and 'Dogong' is Korean way of reading the Japanese word for potter. Well...

Paky, you can see them in the list. They are on the 20th line. Oh Hyung and Im Kyung-Buhn.
WOW, it's really a great work ! Kudos to the maker. Thanks to his or her work. I would like to borrow some photos for my "History & Fiction" thread.
And these are my comments.
In the photographic list, Hwang Se-Deuk is referred as Gwang-yang chumsa. But Gwang-yang was administrated by a magistrate (hyungam). As much as I know, Hwang Se-Deuk was Constable of Jang-heung, then Garrison commander (chumsa) of Sado.
Yi Duk-Hyung's title in 1598 was Right Minister (wu-ui-jeong), at the last moment of the drama.
It's really funny to find that Oh Sang (1512-1573) and Yi Won-Ik (1547-1634) are played by the same actor. I didn't recognize it. lol It seems that the producers were tired of searching a new actor. LOL
Did Yi Yang-Won also show up in the drama ? I didn't know it. I should review the whole YSS's youth episodes.
I have a question : was Gohemon (the guy who tried to assassinate Hideyoshi, but failed and was killed by him) a historical character ?

I have a question : was Gohemon (the guy who tried to assassinate Hideyoshi, but failed and was killed by him) a historical character ? Gohemon is a fictional character. He probably represents Hideyoshi's lost of control over his subordinates. The year I saw with that episode was 1595. During that time frame, Hideyoshi had ordered his nephew, Hidetsugu,to commit suicide and killed his wives and kids to eliminate conflict in the future. Hidetsugu was made heir to Hideyoshi control after Hideyoshi first son, Tsurumatsu, died. But when Hideyori was born in 1593, Hideyoshi had to do something so that conflict would not happen.

It's an interesting remark, skinz. It makes me remind of Maalii's posting on AOW board about Duduel as a representative of "the conscience of the common people" ( Character as plot device: Duduel and parallels). In IYSS, we can often hear vox populi, the people's voice from the Chosun sailors, from potters, from Kitchen Mamy, from Chung-Hyang, from Magistrate Uh and pojaks, etc. And YSS is their supporter. King Sujo and Won Kyun the royalist are his antitheses. Gohemon is certainly a voice of the Japanese people. All rulers in IYSS have negative images : king Sunjo, Taiko Toyotomi Hideyoshi and even Emperor Wanli (lazy and dull emperor). It reveals with which "prism of presentism" and from which political position the dramatists are regarding history.

Would it be possible for anyone to translate all of the Hangul in the post? A daunting task, I know.

Oh Sang (1512-1573) died when YSS was yet young. Yi Won-Ik Supreme Commander Yi Won-Ik (1547-1634) is the famous Prime Minister in Korean history. He was Supreme Commander during the Imjin War. He was two years younger than YSS in real history. I don't know the name of the actor. Anyway, he should receive "The-Recycled-Actor-Supreme-Award" ! For the full identification of characters, I think it would be entertaining to let it as a big puzzle for Non-Korean-Speakers. ;D

You know, this guy looks A LOT like the guy who played the father of Goeun on Who's My Love (Yoon Duk Yong). Do you think it's possible?
