My question is does anyone happen to know the name of the actress playing the part Yunhwa........She seems like she is the future love-interest of YSS......She is also the daughter of the General & Master trainer who runs the training camp.. Thanx for your help john

You mean her? Yeah they married and have two or three kids together I think. You probably won’t see much of her after he becomes a garrison commandant at Fort Konwon and battles the Jurchen barbarian forces. Whoa! You’re in episode 13? We’re in Episode 83 here in Chicago. New York and the rest of the cities that have YSS I think are a few episodes ahead of us and South Korea is probably finished with this series. BTW, if you're starting to watch the early episodes, YSS never grew up with Won Kyun. That's fictional as is the part where he takes refuge in Master Namgoon's village to escapge authorities. That place is fictional also. The real Admiral YSS despised Admiral Won Kyun in his log journals because he was a hot tempered drunkard. However, Minister Yu Sung-ryong and Yi Soon Shin were childhood friends.

(Geoncheon-dong, in Seoul) KBS is going to broadcast IYSS episode 101~102 here in Korea this weekend. It will have total 104 episodes. (not finished yet) Additionally, two special shows will be broadcasted after the end of the series. The one is a talk show with the IYSS actors, and the other is a documentary (or making) film about IYSS. My question is does anyone happen to know the name of the actress playing the part Yunhwa The name of the actress is Choi Yu-jeong. Refer to this thread : She retired from the entertainment world.

Hmm, I did not know that? So they could have been childhood playmates if they were from the same village if it's a small village or town. Other Kyopo members on this board when this show was starting back in October said there’s no evidence that YSS and Won Kyun never grew up together when they were discussing about what’s true in history and fiction in the show like the fact that Wakizaka and YSS never met each other in person or that YSS was never a martial arts master when he was trying to rescue Mijin and Pyung from the Japanese pirates since he failed the military exam twice (I think).

Choko--will there be "end of series" parties going on in bars and restaurants as sometimes happens here in the States? ;D I hope that we will be able to see the talk show and documentary too!

I wrote about it on a thread about Won Kyun. I think other Korean member of this board seemed to miss some historical documents or to ignore them intentionally to bash KBS and IYSS. Choko--will there be "end of series" parties going on in bars and restaurants as sometimes happens here in the States? ;D I hope that we will be able to see the talk show and documentary too! Oh? What do you mean by that? The end of series party for the entire actors and staff? or the party of IYSS fans who love watching the last episode of IYSS together? ;D If you mean the former, Yes... there was an article to say that Kim Myoung-min (playing YSS) drank much soju (Korean alchohol) in a restarant with other actors and staff after shooting his death scene. He was known as a nondrinker, but the sorrow caused by the end of shooting made him drink. If you refer to the latter, Yes, there are many end of series parties in Korea like in the U.S. but I don't have such a good chance now.

Yeah, I did mean the fans but what you said about the post-production party with the actors is so interesting!!! Kim Myoung-min has lived in the General's shoes for so long--as an actor, his thought-life has been so tied to YSS; it must be EXTREMELY emotionally intense. And what an honor for him to play such a great man!!! The emotional adjustment he must make now that his performance is over is H-U-G-E!!!!!!!! And I'm So sorry that you don't have a chance to partake in the celebration
