Thanks, Cool. On a funny note, I was looking around the site and I noticed that they tell you Americans (not just those in the military) can take USO-sponsored tours and use USO sites, and they offer "American favorites to eat" at the USO canteen in Seoul! Like, I'm in Seoul, trying to absorb the local culture, and I MUST HAVE A TWINKIE! NOW! Hah, hah, hah... (Actually, I shouldn't laugh, I've traveled with plenty of such types...McDonalds on the Piazza Spagna nothing. I've been with people who wouldn't eat anywhere but McDonalds when traveling in the US!)

Not just Americans ... I've had more than one European tourist ask me for directions to the nearest McDonald's. And this was in San Francisco, a city blessed with an overabundance of cheap yet tasty cuisine. Chinatown no less.
But for me "Haengju" brings up memories of the reeking dishcloth I used to wipe down the kitchen counter when I was a kid ... My mom (SNU microbiology graduate) insisted that I use it without rubber gloves because she said it was perfectly clean ... now of course we know better ;D
