Wait a sec...I just saw some pictures of Yi Young Nam in episode 4 saving Yi Soon Shin's life. Now, unfortunately, sadly, and regrettably, I did not see the first couple of episodes of IYSS. In fact, the first episode I saw was already WAY into the drama....I think it was the episode where Yi Soon Shin was made commander of the Left Cholla Station, but I only saw snippets of that episode. It was only the episode where magistrate uh joins yi soon shin that i really started paying attention. So...can someone please explain to me how Yi Young Nam saves Yi Soon Shin's life in episode 4 when it's clear that he's still alive? I mean...did the actor who Yi Young Nam play someone else? Did it involve that land battle that Yi Soon Shin have the Jurchen tribes? (am i right about that? was it the jurchens or the manchus?) THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

I also started watching around the part where YSS comes to Left Cheolla Base to be Admiral. But I have learned from othere that the first four episodes are the final days of YSS's life. Then when he is shot or whatever, the drama flashbacks to his childhood and starts from there. I guess once the drama nears the end it will "re-flashback" to the first four episodes and show the end of YSS's life..
Confusing, huh?

hmm I see princess...
I don't want to know about the first four since they are also the "last" four... -_-
god Yi Young Nam saves the admiral? SPOILEr but at the same time, it's not..
the admiral leaves this bleak world in the glory of his final victory...I just hope he left knowing that he will be a great legend...

Wow it seems like alot of people starting watching around the time that YSS became commander of the Left Cholla Navy. Thats when I started watching as well. But thanks to Chigirl for letting me borrow her tape of the first 7 episodes, I got to see the awesome battle scenes of the first 4 episodes. Anyways the first 4 episodes were actually the end of the 7 year war between Chosun and Japan. At the end of the 4th episode YSS gets shot, slowly falls down, closes his eyes, when he opens his eyes again, he's a young boy. I guess from that point forward it shows the life of YSS before he became a Naval Commander. I wish I would've seen it from the beginning. I did see some episodes here and there but not consistently. Now I do not miss an episode ;D

Yeah, I am glad I recorded the first 4 eps. they're the best.
But what really makes me angry is, I MISSED the part where Yi Soon got shot (well no I didn’t miss it, but i didn’t have a tape handy at that moment) so when ever I watch ep 5 it starts with Yi Soon Shin and his friends are trying to peek over that wall.

Er, has anyone looked back into this forum for threads posted by VIB? There are full, numbered summaries of those four shows and many more. But Choko, you mean you do not have a YSS library of pictoral summaries? Tsk, tsk. Bo

Hi everyone. We started watching around episode 20-25. I would sell my soul to Wakizaka to see the first 20 eps. lol Can't wait for the DVD of this riveting program. We can't go out on Saturday nights any more because we stay home to watch YSS. :-)

Answer is quite obvious, Young-Nam is a general serving under the then "SUPREME NAVAL COMMANDER" of Chosun Yi-Sun-Shin. At episodes like 70+ he is not at that rank yet where he is leader of all three navies. Thats why it shows Young-Nam's future respect toward Yi being developed now, and soon all those that opposed him like Kyun's generals will all honor and follow under his rule.
