Does anyone have a good picture of the Turtle Ship black banner? It looks kind of like a Chinese character rather than Korean. My wife thinks it means dragon. Any other insight on this? Whatever it is, it looks pretty cool. Kind of like flying a jolly roger skull and crossbones!

You mean this? It means turtle. (you can actually see a turtle if you tilt your head to the right, can't you?) But there are alternatives, like this one, I've seen this being carried on most of the turtle ships that I saw, and it means leader. And some modern recostructions done by Korean navy carry Korean flag Taegukgi too.

Most excellent Donilpark! Thank you! We hope to return to Korea next year and see the places and things associated with YSS. How many Turtle Ships are in Korean waters now?

Have no idea. Thousands around the entire country? Hundreds? I can't even take a guess.
