Can anyone explain how Constable Kwon came to be on the same military level as the other Commanders? In YSS's diary, he is referred to as a Magistrate. What was his function in Korean society before he was on YSS's staff?
BTW, episodes 68-70 have been great, but man, was episode 69 sad.

Constable Kwon Jun is a mysterious man. Almost nothing of him was known except fragmentary informations in some passages of YSS's diary and of Royal Annals.
We don't know what he did before the Imjin War. Even we don't know when he was born and died. The last appearance of his name in Royal Annals is in 1607.
*The title of busa is translated as "Magistrate" in some English books and as "Constable" in your subtitles. Busa was a provincial administrator post retaining at the same time military function of chumsa (abb. of byong-ma-chum-jeol-je-sa).
Kwon Jun was a busa of Suncheon between 1591-1594.
