they are different people. Kwon Yul is a famous Admiral guiding the Chosun army, and Kwon jun is a fictional character in the drama aiding Yi Soon Shin..

Passenger : Kwon Jun is a historical personage. You can find his name many times in Nanjung Ilgi (YSS's War Diaries). I would like to say that Kwon Jun is a "fictionalized historical character" just as Kim Wan. - florel

Kwon Jun = One of YSS's Generals Kwon Yul = General who is defending the Cholla Province. Famous for his victories against the Japanese during the war.

I also would like to know when Kwon Yul appears, so I can get my VCR ready. I think somebody said that he would appear at the "battle" of Young-in, but what episode is that?
I'm thinking 69 or 71. Anyone know specifically which one?

Kwon Yul appears in ep. 69 as a military commander of the city of Gwang-ju. He is going to be the top martial of the Chosun army in the future. Ironically, War Minister Yi Hang-bok, his senior official, is his son-in-law. Kwon Jun is a hidden manipulator of the Chosun navy. lol ;D

Kwon Jun is a hidden manipulator of the Chosun navy. Not only that, we have learned elsewhere on this board that he is none other than the father of Dae Jang-geum! Ha ha hah! Bo

hm...wait, i thought Kwon Jun actually existed. If he didn't exist, then how was he the one who killed Gurijima? Or did they make that up? I'm confused!

Of course, Kwon Jun really existed in the history. The Bo and JP Paulus are just joking. Actor Park Chan-hwan playing Kwon Jun in "The Immortal Yi Sun-shin" also played the role of Jang-geum's father in the famous Korean historical drama named "The Great Jang-geum". Constable Kwon Jun in "The Immortal Yi Sun-shin" with the late 16th century setting. Jang-geum's father in "The Great Jang-geum" with the late 15th century setting.
