Sounds like the time for a new vcr (so sorry to say). I've had similiar problems with mine as well. Thanks Eowyn, but I think it is time for a new vcr I used a new tape yesterday when I tried to record. I'm going to hurry up after school tonight so I can make it on time to see the next episode.

I just watched this episode. I thought the parts about the sinking of the turtle ship and their reactions were excellent, very well done. However, I knew this must be the episode with the repeating muskets, so I just waited for it, and oh, boy, it was hilarious. I think I disturbed the neighbors with my shrieks of joy. The good thing was, it acted as an antidote to the feeling of depression brought on by the sinking of the Turtle Ship.
Alexa, as for the "test" of guns, although this was staged in a ridiculous manner and impossible to take seriously, I don't think it was at all unusual for captured soldiers to be used as guinea pigs in testing weapons. This is one reason why the Geneva Convention is so important. Remember, YSS did it too, in proving to his men that they could not beat the Japanese in hand-to-hand combat. However, the test they ran in this episode was useless, no strategist would just build a village, dress people up in wedding clothes and shoot them like fish in a barrel. He'd send them out and hunt them down. The only justification for this might have been to impress Toyotomi, but the character does not seem quite THAT stupid.

But those were special uber samurai elite gunmen that could reload in a second and hit their targets precisely while blindfolded.

I also liked this episode...but was very surprised to see the Turtle Ship sink.
