Well here in NJ, I just watched the Turtle Ship sink (it really didn't) and High Commander Yi building another one when those royal people come and say that THE NAVY IS ABOLISHED. What now? Those directors are making things really interesting...cause I don't know what further peril the ignorant king and Shin Lip are going to plunge Chosun into before the Japanese cause all hell. Also, I read that Yi Soon Shin executed a lot of his soldiers according to his diary...is this true? I guess at the time, it wasn't such a heinous thing to do, but think about the families...Meh, no one's perfect And in the episode when the king orders the navy to join the army, did the Japanese really execute Chosun prisoners like that?

In the future, don't post titles for threads which are spoilers for those folks who are not up to our episodes. use Episode 43, or whatever the number is, and write spoilers. I always hated it when I opened a thread and was filled in on the future eps without warning. Some people don't care, but I think it's a good policy. Thanks.

We're in NJ too and it's amazing the drama they're creating. The last 2 episodes were a rollercoaster of emotions. Can't wait until next week. You're right about the King. He blows with the wind.

This portion of the show lacks historical backround, and action of any sort {training and shipbuilding is the only thing that is happening} Did you see the first four episodes, which document the Battle of Noryang? Also, have you seen Age of Warriors?

The writers are not making it interesting their stalling. Because all this mess is not gonna mean anything after Episode 57 airs.

It is true that the king and the court tried to abolish the navy, although it is not clear if the plan was caused by the turtleship accident, as the drama depicted.

I....Some people don't care, but I think it's a good policy. Not only that, it's kind of a rule around here. Since I don't know which episode pak is referring to, I just doctored up the title of the thread as best I could. Bo

Good question, Choko, but we know for sure that the accident never happened in history so it can't be the reason that precipitated the King's decision to abolish the navy. So, was there a different reason or was the entire situation created for dramatic effect?
