While I was changing the channel yesterday I came upon a Korean drama set in chosun also. I knew it was from the chosun era because the women had the same hairstyle and clothes like YSS. Anyway, it showed a school for little girls and one girl was cleaning the dishes or something.
However, it was dubbed in chinese with chinese subtitles. I was confused cause I knew that the actresses had to be korean. It was on channel 73 at 8:00 pm on cablevision.

The scene you describe sounds like an early episode from "Dae Jang Geum" (a.k.a. The Great Jang Geum or Jewel in the Palace), especially if the little girls were dressed in blue skirts with pink tops.

Yes, I agree with taebimama.
I heard a Chinese channel in the U.S is airing "The Great Jang-geum" in Mandarin. It is very popular throughout Asian countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Hongkong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mongol etc. Recently Hongkong registered about 40% in its TV rating.

We have many new posters on our Jang Geum forum from Malaysia. I think it just wrapped up the series over there. It seems very popular. That is one of my fav dramas. I can understand it's popularity.
