choko posted this information for us some time ago.... "This KBS drama is based on two novels about Admiral Yi : one is "The immortal (ºÒ¸ê)" and the other is "The Song of Sword(Ä®ÀÇ ³ë·¡)". " his war diaries are also available....one is personal, one is the formal accounting to the court. they are: personal: "Nanjung Ilgi" court: "Imjin Changch'o" i found the latter 2 books (the ones written by the admiral) online at hanbooks. let me look for the address....this is the link... www.hanbooks.com/as for the books that the drama is based on, i think there is some question about their accuracy of events, etc. not sure of this however.

Dear KimChee....
Luvarchfriend gives two very nice books written by Admiral Yi himself. One more book I'd add is Samurai Invasions by Steven Turnbull. You can get it at amazon.com, barnsandnobles.com and a number of other sources. Samurai Invasions is about the Imjin War from start to finish. It not only has a lot of information on Admiral Yi, and the sea battles, but also the land battles.
The appendex to Imjin Changch'o has a short biography on Admiral Yi.
Hope that helps.
