The new Turtle ship out for its first sailing in front of all the Korean generals, sinks with tens of sailors in it. Yi Soon Shin is blamed for building an unseaworthy vessel costing lots of $$$ and wasting precious national resources. Won Kyun and his supporters are vindicated in front of the King who wants to punish Yi but is held back by the scheming Westerners who have other plans for Yi. The engineer who thought of the metal armour ideal that was blamed for sinking the ship, gets drunk and parties all night with Kiseng girls because of extreme guilt and sorrow. Everybody in the Yi's camp wants Yi Soon Shin to give up building the iron clad and continue to rely on the old traditional Panekson ship. But Yi is determined to not give up on the Turtle ship and commands that he will not give up. He orders that the engineer found and brought to him. He finally goes out and gets him, and tells him he still believes in him and that he should find out what went wrong and try again.
They decide not to give up, and if no one's going to help them, they'll build the ships themselves. The generals in the camp see how determined the admiral is, and they are touched. The Admiral wins them over to his side, and everybody starts to build the ship all over again.
But
The king sends his envoy and commands that Admiral Yi stop with building up the navy nonsense and turn everyone into an infantry force (which Yi Soon Shin had already determined that his infantry hasn't a prayer against much more superior Japanese infantry).
There it ends, until the next episode.
