I guess some of you want to have the clear classfication of characters. I would like to start with ministers. (I will try to update character lists when I have a leisure time.) All the ministers and high military officials in the show are historical personages. The West ministersYun Du-Su (also spelled as Yoon Du-Su) Yun Geun-Su (younger brother of Yun Du-Su) Jung Chul (A famous poet. But he was the most terrible Westerner who persecuted more than thousand Easterners, their families and friends.) Hwang Yun-Gil (no photo) : president of Chosun delegates to Japan Yi Hang-Bok (not yet appear. He was the son-in-law of Marshal Kwon Yul.) The East ministersYi San-Hae (futur leader of the North) Yu Sung-Ryong (futur leader of the South) Jung Un-Shin (no photo, old corpulent man) (He was a relative of Jung Yeo-Rip and purged by his treason affair.) Yi Duk-Hyung, son-in-law of Yi San-Hae (He was a diplomat during Imjin war. Historically, he retained a moderate position between political parties and he was a near friend of the Westerner Yi Hang-Bok.) Jung Tak Kim Sung-Il (He was the Yu Sung-Ryong's academic school comrade and the vice-president of Chosun delegates to Japan.) Huh Sung (no photo) : secretary of Chosun delegates to Japan Cf. In the drama, Han Ho (famous calligrapher with pen name Suk-Bong) is presented as the East partisan. But I have never heard if he would have taken a political position.
