So what are they calling the king? Didn't sound like wang san peha. Don't these people know Korean? So YSS went from punk to super martial art expert in just a year and learned to spin a nice ceramic at the same time. In real lfe he was already married at this point correct? You know Baron Huh bribed his way out of trouble and just forgot about Chun-su. That Queen must have a stong neck wearing that wig all the time. Looks will see a corronation next ep. I wonder if all the attendees still have to beaded curtain hats. I'm looking foward to seeing YSS in the navy.

good one AW "don't these people know Korean?"....but wondered about this myself....why "your majesty" doesn't sound the same. but we did get a 'your grace is immeasurable' tonight, and some grunts (haven't heard many of those lately ). it seemed yss had been at the masters longer than a year but apparently not. i wish so much that he and mijin would get together....i wonder if she was a real person or just a character the writers decided would make the story more interesting. there is just something about her....her grace, her strength, her compassion....well she just has some mighty fine qualities. as for baron huh...i agree....chun su probably never crossed his mind again. it will be interesting to see how quickly sung-ryong becomes a major power with his friend now the new king..... hmm, maybe that is the difference in the way the ruler is addressed...in AOW he was called the emperor, in this drama he is called the king. i, too, will be very happy when yss finally starts his military career.

Hey, a ceremonial Grace is Immeasurable drink. I admire that. I've been keeping an eye out for a green cup, but no luck yet. I guess the shotglass is a better choice, anyway. Speaking of the queen's hair, I find it hard to keep my mind on the subtitles with those ornaments in there, especially he ones on each side with the 3-D moving parts inside. At a couple of points in the show, I could swear I heard the dolphin voice from "Flipper" in the background.

Speaking of ep.21, whats with the prime minister, with the huge nose? Now, i'm half-Jewish, so i've seen my share of facial potatoes. But, this, man. Whoa!

Just a note, not sure if I am right or not...
By this time, wasn't Chosun a vassel state of the Ming? If that's true, it wouldn't look good if the Chosun called their ruler Emperor when the Ming Emperor was still around. As such, I think that the Ming designated the Chosun ruler a "King", subservient to the Ming.
Hope I'm right.
I felt so bad for Prince Ha-Sung when he was made Emperor. His mother died, father died, now he's the Emperor. He'll probably lean on Yu Sung-Rong more than ever.

AW: clean up those glasses....i think things are heating up.
MC: i was also mesmerized by the bobbling hair ornaments. found my own head bobbing around. these are worse than the one lotus had i think. i don't recall any dolphin serenades however.
ID: i didn't even notice the big nose. i think there have been so many i have become immune to the sight.
General: that would explain the emperor vs king thing. i need to do more reading.
this show is getting better all the time. i think we will see that it will continue to do so. those first 4 episodes are going to be hard to beat, if they even try.

These episodes are good, but nothing can match the action, and the scope of the first four episodes.

For everyone : You will hear more and more frequently "Your grace is immeasurable" !

ID: i agree, those first four episodes are beyond duplication in quality.
florel: thank you for confirming what gen HCW wrote and for letting us know that more 'graces' are on the way. it is a favorite for many of us.

lol, everyone!
I don't like that red orb in the Queen's hair dressing. But I do like the new king - he's a good kid.
And Soon-shin and Mijin are so sweet together. I have a feeling that things will go sad with them, though. I find the show so good and better than ever - rich in its storytelling!

Just from my observation, without knowing anything about the meaning or rank significance, the ruler in this period was addressed as Joh-nah.
I became familiar with this from "The Women of the Palace" series which was (assuming from the costumes because there were no subtitles) set at least roughly in the same era.

I don't like that red orb in the Queen's hair dressing. It's like she was walking by a Christmas tree and thought, "I wonder how these ornaments would look in my wig?" and tried them on. Then everyone felt obliged to tell her how good they looked because she's the Queen. So she left them in. And Soon-shin and Mijin are so sweet together. I have a feeling that things will go sad with them, though. I hope we see her again. Her story isn't over, she still needs to get revenge for her parents. Who's she going to end up marrying? Who in the potter village is based on a real life character? The kid? The old master?

AW, VIB can confirm or correct here, but i think the only real character from the pottery village is the old master, not too sure of him. i think she told me that nalbal was never mentioned in the admiral's diaries ( haven't finished reading them myself) and surely he would have been had he been real. won kyun is mentioned, young nam too. these are the ones that stand out in my mind... paging VIB....we need some expert info here....
