Damo is a great drama, and the music makes it even better. I particularly like the slow, haunting instrumentals frequently heard in the background of the most emotional scenes. I really would like to purchase the O.S.T. CD for Damo. I checked out 5 sources (annyoung.com, yesasia.com, Amazon.com, BMGmusic.com, and Ebay). The info listed states that the CD was issued in 2003 and is already out-of-print!!! Could this be possible? (and why?-- Damo is being televised for the first time in Chgo., and there are many O.S.T. CD buyers out there like me who really enjoy the soundtracks of their favorite K-dramas!) Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks!

Does anyone have any information on this? I noticed that was well. I was going to post a link for anyone who wanted more info on the OST or wanted to purchase it but apparently it's no longer available. My advice would be to check with local Korean music stores in Chicago. Some might still have it. Although you'll be paying about $5 more than buying it online. That's probably your best shot if you really want to buy the OST.

Thanks, Choko, for taking the time to list all of the selections contained on the O.S.T. CD, but my Windows Media Player was not compatible & I was not able to hear them. Thanks, knov1, for the suggestion. I will try to scout for it in the Chgo. area. (I suppose it would take an Act of Congress to get it re-released, now that it's out-of-print. Once books are out-of-print, I think it's permanently, too.) I'll definitely make an effort to find a copy out there.

I just had a thought..... a long time ago in college, I took an elective class at Northeastern Ill. in American Pop Culture. Wouldn't it be great to take a class on Korean Popular Culture? I think it would be interesting, informative and fun. Does anyone know if any such classes exist out there in the Chicago area?

Maybe there's some Korean language institute in Chicago, like the Cervantes institute. Or you could take a Korean class at a college - I'm sure they teach classes there.
If all else fails, entice someone who's a native into teaching you with oodles of kimchee.

:DJenny!------I'm sending you a big "High 5" all the way to Schaumburg......can you see my arm waving in a Northwesternly direction?......I went back to soompi and decided to read the directions on how to set up and receive the downloads. (Guess I was so anxious yesterday, I should have just slowed down long enough to read the directions in the first place!) ***Anyway, I owe you one! The music is really beautiful ! Kamsa Hamnida! Thank you, thank you!

Oh! I'm glad it worked!!! ;D Soompi is a lot of fun, isn't it? How is school? What are you studying? Thanks for asking! I'm studying financial services at a local community college. It's going pretty good, I'm all excited because I'm signing up for Japanese 101 this week, for the next semester! I wish my school had a Korean pop culture class, that would be amazing! Or even a Korean language class. I'd do a research paper on Shinwa! I know that Oakton Community College has a Korean language class for credit, I thought of taking it there and transferring the credits but one semester in that class costs as much as a year at my school! (Since I'm out of district) I know a community college in Hawaii has a class about Korean dramas, though. Another reason to be jealous of Hawaiians. ;D P.S. I love your penguin avatar, Flowerlady!!! Too cute!

---Hi, Jenny! Best of luck to you in school! Thanks, also for the tip about Oakton Comm. College having the Korean language course available for credit. I'm actually in that district and will look into that for the next semester. I have been trying to teach myself the Korean language with CD sets and books, but taking a class would be much easier, more concise and hopefully, more fun! Thank you, again, for being so sweet!

No thank you, you are the sweetest! I'm glad you're in-district! They may even have non credit classes, but those are usually basic travel phrases and stuff. Let us know if you take advantage of their classes, and then you can teach us here! ;D

"Beginning Korean I" will be next offered at the Des Plaines and Skokie campuses as a credit course in Fall, 2005. Only the advanced level Korean classes for credit are being offered next semester (Winter/Spring, 2005.) Thanks again for the head-up, Jenny, and hope all is well with you!
