I recorded this one by accident today, I don't know if it's going to play regularly now at this 4:30 (?) time slot on Friday, the only recognizable face is the old guy that played Jinsoo's dad in MPC...haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet, it's subtitled but look sorta boring, I'll give it a chance though, anybody else know anything about or even heard of this show?

I think it's The Jujube Tree Yes, I used to watch it late nights, accidentally channel surfing. No subtitles then, tho. It's now on episode 735 or something! Ki-joon's aunt's husband is in it too. I think he used to have a thin mustache before. I found it this morning (Sat.) at around 10:30. It really drew me in-my purpose in turning on the vcr was to watch a tape, but ...couldn't stop watching. Grandpa set up a blind date for grandson and dragged son, DIL and grandson -surprise! lovely girl and her grandfather, but grandson sits there sullenly. Rest of family loves her. He says, but I'm dating someone already (lie). Gets a friend to ask her friend to be a fake date. Fake date not told it's a fake date, likes him a lot. Big trouble. I liked it at first because it was my first glimpse of life in Korea. They live in a small town or village, with farm fields right there. Large family lives together around a courtyard and they all do what aboji says. I don't know if it's on again this week. btw, Dufus Dad seems a bit more on the ball, but, today, not a lot.

I have no idea why they're bothering to show this show now, subtitled or not, it's just SO late into the serie (they played it today after the re-airing of Who's My Love), they're on their 733rd episode! I guess they're playing it only as a time filler till they can get another Mon/Tue. morning show going...if they are just using it as a time filler, it'd be nice if it was Drama City w/ subtitle.

I saw it yesterday, weeks after I saw the other episode, and I hadn't missed much if anything. You're right, it's a fill in. It's not bad, tho. The son is still sullen, but the fake blind date has just been told that it was a fake date, and she's furious, because she likes him and was ready to have him meet her family, after one date-? It's a small town, very gossipy, all kinds of workers meet during the course of a day. I enjoy seeing how they do things, especially cooking, more than seeing women in heels in an office in American shows.

Before this thread disappears onto page 2, perhaps a moderator could correct the spelling of the name of the show:
The Jujube Tree
Thanks! Last time I saw this, the story was self-contained, instead of leaving the situation dangling. A new grave was discovered on the main family's property, and people imagined that they were being haunted. It was resolved sweetly and with generosity. Hee-soo's father-in-law is in it, but he's a bit more on the ball, not a doofus. (I forgot the name of the show, before MSMD, after OMR)
