I know they're not Korean, but there is some really good Japanese cinema out there (some have been posted here), and I think Japanese and Korean drama have informed and incorporated each other in many ways, just like American and French cinema. I saw a lovely movie the other day, we rented it from Netflix. It's Yasujiro Ozu's "Good Morning" and it's simply charming, about young boys in 1950s Tokyo and their desire and campaign for a TV set. There are several simultaneous stories, including (be warned) about them cultivating the ability to fart on command (they're 11 or so! - it's not offensive in any way), the gossipy nature of the community, and them learning English, and we really enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Bo

you also want to try out April Story as well. I am not whether you can get it from Netflix, though

I saw one yesterday called ...drawing a blank right now, but it was on AZN. It was pretty good. About a girl who's brother starves himself to death.

Just watched one last night called 'Postman Blue', I thought it was pretty good, it's directed by Sabu, I've never heard of the guy, but still I enjoyed the movie.

Thanks for the suggestions, you guys! I've already got a number of Kurosawa's movies (for some reason, the only one that comes to mind right now is "Throne of Blood") in my queue, but I'll look for these others, too.
