I am looking forward to this show with exceeding apprehension. Yesterday, after the 8 o'clock episode of "Who's My Love" ran through, a preview of "Super Rookie" was aired. Does anyone have any information as to whether it will air with or without subtiles or whether it will air at all? The preview for "My Sweetheart" was also shown without subtitles, so I'm thinking that maybe that's simply how the station chooses to air their previews....

Well, all I know is that it has the man that everybody loves to hate, Eric (the cheesy-ass Jung-Min from The Phoenix), from the preview, he still looks like he has that same cheesiness (sp?) to him, but I've only read good things about this show, so I'm looking forward to it.

I do hope they show this with English subtitles in Chicago. While it's not something fantastic, it's still pretty good (rates about a "B" in my book) and certainly worth watching. Eric has a somewhat comedic role in "Super Rookie," and he's doing it surprisingly well. Strong performances from the other actors, too. There was also a short thread about this show (with links to the California board - spoiler alert) elsewhere on this board: deiner.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=other&action=display&thread=1113765801

I thought the scene where Eric is on the bridge and loses his money because of the gust of wind was pretty funny, at first I thought it was just a bad case of overacting, but I realized he was singing along with the song.
So what's the relationship between Eric's character, Oh Ji-ho's character, and the dude with the glasses?

Does anyone have any information as to whether it will air with or without subtiles or whether it will air at all? MBC Super Rookie replaced MBC Sad Sonata in the Wednesday & Thursday @ 10:30am timeslot. It's being given without subtitles.

So what's the relationship between Eric's character, Oh Ji-ho's character, and the dude with the glasses? You mean the girl? Oh Ji-Ho's char is the glasses-wearing girl's ex-boyfriend. Eric's char is the guy who saved glasses-girl from suicide. Oh Ji-Ho's char and Eric's char were friends. But (in the bathroom scene) Oh Ji-Ho and his friend were calling Eric's char and the other unemployed friend "trash" so they're not on good terms anymore. Haha ~ I'm watching it because I have this borrowed from a video store and have the whole series

Actually I meant the guy, the one that lives by himself and Eric constantly visits and is tutoring Eric's brother, but it's ok, I guess the three were all friends before, thanks for the explanation ;D Anyways, I have another question, if his test results were so bad, why'd they hire him anyway? I know his paper accidentally fell into the other box, but couldn't they still reject him or something?

I didn't understand a word of what was being said in today's episode till Eric's little 'american-speaking fantasy!' for those who're watching this drama! it's got its cute bits... i loved the whole make-up apllying scene, as well... Don't know the purpose of it, but it was interesting to watch.

Yeah, the whole make-up scene is pretty funny, I can only guess that maybe he's testing out the product and dragged his friends and brother into it...it was pretty frustrating cuz I was getting into today's episode, then suddenly the whole thing is off the air and I get nothing but static, it did come back on, but about 20 mins were just static.

They had a new computerized scoring system from Germany that erroneously gave him a perfect score. It was a huge secret because although he was a total idiot (no offense meant) regarding business, he always managed to do the most important things right!
For example, he sold a huge batch of women's underwear to a Japanese businessmen that he knew. It was a total fluke because the businessman was talking to him about something else and Eric happened to give him a spill about the underwear. It was the largest order (ever, I think) and everyone was amazed. I think it was their rookie assignment to get sales for their products. Needless to say, Eric outdid them and I think he got a award for it.
The makeup is for another project, trying to figure out (I think) how to increase sales for their makeup line. He's making his friends test it out and he's going to write their comments about it's application and effectiveness for a report.
It's a VERY funny show and I was fortunate to get it subtitled through TAN. I can't remember ALL the details - it ended about a month ago for me.
