With poor Grandma seeking out a kind of nursing home, is she reliving memories from the past? She told another woman, who never married, that she became a widow at a very young age. Grandma mentioned something about coming from a family that had no sons, but that she was infertile herself. Maybe this is why she is so upset with her grand-daughter, Jae-Hae, having female problems. Perhaps she endured her deceased husband having affairs, so she fears that Jae-Hae will follow in her path. Now, I'm wondering if Min-Sup is really her son.
This will be a real cliff-hanger if Min-Sup finds out that he is adopted, or maybe the son of an illicit affair between her late husband and another woman.
I think Grandma has a lot of family secrets to tell before she dies. No matter what happens, it's sad that she feels so desolate and has to carry this burden upon herself.

that's the impression that i got. i think it might be that he's adopted, unless grandma really does have a screw loose and she's lost it. when i saw the subs for the scene.. i was like huh? cuz the subs were kinda fast... at least they're giving grandma more of a plot.. i just hope they dont drag it...

I guess I'm not so optimistic, but I think that he's the son of an illicit affair with the woman that looks like Ji-hae (I think the picture that grandma had was of that woman, not Ji-hae herself). Then I think that since Min-sup was her husband's child, he claimed custody of him since apparently you can do that if you're a man in korea.

Yeah, it's very confusing that all of a sudden she says she was infertile after insisting several times to her new friend that she has a son and d-i-l. And it passes w/o comment. But if she's infertile, obviously Min-sup is not her biological son.

I think this will be the answer, from the look on her face of "I bet you had to endure a lot of affairs." Didn't this happen to one of the character's from Amy Tan's The Joy Luck Club? She (one of the four main characters) had a son, but the main wife took her son away (she was only a concubine) and claimed the baby as her own.

I think it's scary how easily a child's custody can be stolen from the mother. (Not that it happens all the time; these are isolated situations, but it's still spooky.)

Min-sup had said to Ji-hae and Jae-min, (after Grandma's pillow-baby episode) "Do you think I was stolen?" This was such an odd statement that it makes me think there is something to it. I thought it was odd, too, the way Grandma kept saying, "Look at my baby, I gave birth to him" when she was holding the pillow. No new mother says "Look what I gave birth to!" while lying in the hospital bed. Well, duh, you gave birth, you didn't hatch him. So either adopted or stolen.
This will be interesting.

I can't wait for more episodes! Either Grandma is dealing with dementia or with her past. I'm just wondering what impact this will have on the family if Min-Sup finds out that he's adopted. He seems shiftless and lazy, but I wonder what emotional impact this will have on him because he's such an unsettled person.

well there is no doubt now that min-sup is not her bio-son,he was probably taken from her husbands mistress and raised by halmoni.that statement about she was waiting for "THIS"mans son pretty much says it all.

yes then she make a statement about a "heavenly connection" between min-sup and jae-hae. obviously her husband must have been really in love with the woman in the picture (that lookes exactly like jae-hae)
it must have broke her heart to see her grand daughter grow to look exactly like her husband's mistress.

Didn't she mean heavenly connection between her husband and the mistress - that's why Ji-hae was born to look exactly like her? Or maybe she just meant the heavenly connection of the mother and son. I wonder if the mistress will ever show up (either because Min-sup looks for her or because, in the K-drama universe, people always know when their entrances will make the most impact).

This is so exciting! I'm having trouble following some of MPC because I missed so much, so this is an interesting topic. Has it resolved, do we know the relationship yet? I watched this morning, and it looks like they still haven't obtained medical help for grandmama; she was ripping stuff up in her bedroom. Didn't they get her CAT-scanned or something?

Bo She saw a Dr. (I think she had a CAT scan) but refused to hear his diagnosis. Dr. told Min-sup she's not senile, but she could use some hypnotic therapy or something. I think the week of Christmas we had a painful Wednesday cliffhanger that led us to believe she was about to tell Min-sup the "truth" (whatever that is) but come Monday she wussed out and said nothing. (AIGU!!) She's been doing alright so far, the preview this morning is the first episode she's had in a while. ("Episode" meaning "crazy fit," not "Episode 107")

Poor Grandma is starting to have problems again with this "Red Fox" issue that hasn't been resolved. I think Min-Sup and his wife are in for serious problems ahead. Their daughter, Jae-Hae, is still in a coma while Jae-Min and his mother are looking to adopt a child for Jae-Hae's health. Min-Sup worries about his mother, but still has a sneaking suspicion that he's been adopted. Young-lan is also playing around with Grandma's mind about "Red Fox". In a previous episode, when Grandma strongly emoted about "Red Fox", Young-lan told her that "Red Fox" had left which gives Grandma more reality to her delusions. Young-lan may have thought that she was solving a situation, but, in reality, she's causing more problems. Min-Sup seems to like having Young-lan around because she diverts him from his boredom. I just wish Young-lan would move away.
