She's feeling guilty! ;D
I'm glad that she is finally on her way to realizing that it's not the Ahn family that caused her problems. Just the mother. And, actually, not even really her, but the people who killed her parents/injured ECB in the car accident.
It's funny, though, that ECB sees what's happening but Mr. Park is still out for revenge. Why is that? I mean, he wasn't really adversely affected by it so much, but he seems to have more of a grudge than the other two.
Maybe when ESM finally realizes that she actually isn't angry at her little family, Mr. Park will get evil and start causing more problems.

I'm not so sure that this is the case. Perceived guilt in Korean dramas has little to do with actual guilt as we (I'm assuming you, like me, are not Korean) would see it. If you watched "Phoenix," for example, witness the willingness of everyone in Ji-eun's family to agree that she was responsible for her father's death because he was killed in traffic while going after her to stop her seeing Se-hoon one last time. And it wasn't just a vague idea of, "well, I guess you could say she bears some responsibility because he wouldn't have been there if it weren't for his need to stop her seeing her ex-husband": no, they literally held her almost entirely responsible for his death. Guilt by association is not something Korean drama characters seem to be able to reason away. And the sins of the fathers, etc., are visited upon the children. . . .

Yeah, she kind of took me by surprise when she was praising Jinkook, but then I think she went back to her dark ways. I was glad Dr. Choi stood his ground and didn’t let himself be influenced by ESM. Although, if she would have taken a briefcase with her maybe ahemm….she could have persuaded him. A good exit to yesterday’s episode would have been SLAP!—Jinkook slapping ESM.

Oh yes, I had forgotten about that already from Phoenix and OMR. And maybe I'm rooting for the evildoers in all of this - perhaps I should be on ESM's side. It's interesting that in the last (and only except for Damo) three dramas that I've watched (OMR, Phoenix, MPC/MLF) the story seems to revolve around the bad or guilty party - what, does that lead to better storytelling than focusing on the maligned, vengeful party? (We need a show like that. Yes, yes, they dig two graves, but I want to see them digging with vigor!) I think that's one reason why their villains are so likeable - they're not villains, they're (mis)underestimated protagonists!

Sometimes it's funner to root for the evildoers, on OMR, I was so sick of the HR & HK business that at the end I was rooting for Aunt Rainbow, she was the best dressed villianess, but I think Miran dethroned her in my book. Yes, yes, they dig two graves, but I want to see them digging with vigor! I thought this was funny! ;D

Although I missed the first half of the HK/HR saga so I didn't hate them as much at the end (though I was getting a little annoyed with her always bursting into tears) I get your point. The evil-doers are so much more interesting, while the goody-goodies always seem like they wander around sighing "woe, woe is me, for I am unfairly attacked, but no, I am very guilty and should be punished, please punish me so I can feel better." It's like bad s&m.
